Chapter 0016
As the teapot flew toward him, Dylan’s eyes narrowed.
Dodging it would have been easy, but instead, lils first instinct was to shove Diana out of the way, missing the perfect chance to avoid it himself.
Diana, now safely pushed aside, panicked. “Dylan-”
Riley appeared outwardly apologetic, though inwardly she could hardly contain her
excitement.
The tea had just been freshly boiled–Dylan’s face wouldn’t survive unscathed today.
If not for her suspicions that Suzy might still care for this jerk, she’d have aimed for more than just his looks. His life would have been over.
Just when everyone, including Dylan, believed the worst was about to happen, the teapot was intercepted, just inches from his face.
A pair of hands had caught it effortlessly.
Dylan’s gaze fell on the woman who had saved him–the same woman he’d mistaken for Suzy outside the airport.
Disguised in a different face, Suzy noticed Dylan staring at her and flashed him a cheeky grin. “Well, well, handsome. Seems like we meet again.
She hadn’t deliberately chosen to wear a face he’d recognize. The mask had just happened to be in her car, but it served the moment perfectly. It gave her a plausible reason to rescue him without arousing too much suspicion.
“We must really be destined,” Suzy teased, leaning in slightly. “First the airport, now here … How about we exchange numbers?”
Dylan, not one for flirtatious antics, immediately took a step back, increasing the distance. between them.
He gave Desmond a quick glance.
Catching on immediately, Desmond pulled out a card from his pocket. “Miss, thank you for helping out my boss just now. Here’s a small token of appreciation.”
Suzy’s eyes, however, never left Dylan.
“I’m not interested in that,” she said, her gaze sharp. “What I want… is him.”
“My brother is already married!” Diana stormed up, snatching the card from Desmond’s hand and stuffing it into Suzy’s. “Take this and be on your way. We have things to do.”
She grabbed Dylan’s arm, practically dragging him toward the exit.

They had barely made it a few steps before Dylan suddenly stopped. “Wait.”
“Wait for what?” Diana hissed, gripping his arm tightly. “Did you see the way she was looking at you? Like a predator eyeing a prey. If you don’t leave now, you might not get away. Or are you thinking that just because she saved you, you’re going to make her the next Anne?
“One Anne is bad enough. If there’s another one, there’s no way my sister–in–law will ever come back to you!” Diana muttered, casting a doubtful glance at Dylan.
She seriously wondered if her brother had been cursed, making him unable to resist any
woman who saved him.
Dylan shot her a look and then turned to Desmond. “The flash drive.”
Desmond quickly retrieved the fallen flash drive from the ground.
Suzy couldn’t help but think, “Is he really that desperate to find me?”
What was driving him to look for her so relentlessly?
Was it because Grace was returning soon, or… was it that he didn’t really want the divorce?
Diana, noticing Dylan wanted the flash drive, sighed in relief.
