The men might be armed, but she felt no fear. She’d faced situations far worse than this. Her real concern wasn’t for herself–it was for Diana. 

At the thought of Diana, her gaze hardened. 

Moving swiftly, she seized the assault rifle from the man who’d taunted her, pressing the barrel against his forehead. She turned to the others, her voice low and menacing. “If you don’t want to die, get out. Now.” 

Her threat had little effect; the man she held sneered, unflinching. “Miss Frost, why don’t you test your aim against mine? Let’s see who’s faster.” 

Suzy’s púlse quickened at the challenge. “Fine. Let’s see who comes out on top.” 

She knew these were desperate men–she’d have to be fiercer than they were to keep control. She said with a smirk, “I’ve never lost a shootout. It’ll be fun to use you all for practice.” 

With that, she cocked the gun, her other hand slipping discreetly toward her waist. Though she still stood some distance from Diana’s cabin, a gunshot would surely echo that far. She had no intention of letting things escalate to open fire. 

She quickly withdrew a set of silver needles, hurling them toward the black–clad men with surgical precision. In a heartbeat, several were hit. Though the needles weren’t coated with poison, she struck each of their pressure points, rendering them immobile. 

The others showed no fear, especially the man she held hostage. “Impressive, Miss Frost,” he said smoothly. Then he turned to his team. 

“Miss Frost has already made her move. Are you planning on surrendering?” 

At his command, the remaining men loaded their guns. 

Suzy had identified him as their leader right from the start. His quiet confidence and the way he answered while the others stayed silent had made it clear. She’d set the trap, and he’d walked right into it. 

Suzy’s gaze remained steely as she assessed the black–clad men, their cold eyes fixed on her, lethal intent barely concealed. 

Without a hint of fear, she yanked her captive forward, using him as a shield. “I gave you chance. Since you didn’t take it, let’s finish this.” 

With practiced swiftness, she discreetly pulled out another set of silver needles and flung them at the remaining men.

Suzy laughed, a dark edge to her voice. “Well, hindsight won’t save you. The world doesn’t leave room for regret.” 

He sneered back. “Why don’t you go check on Miss Diana?” 

Suzy’s expression turned grim. “What did you do to her?” 

“If you want to know,” he taunted, “see for yourself.”
