“What did you just say?” Suzy looked at Hawk in disbelief. “Repeat that.” 

With a smile, Hawk obliged. “Starting today, I’ll be officially working at Harlow Corporation.” 

“And who approved that?” Suzy’s voice raised in annoyance. 

Hawk pointed directly at her. “You did, of course!” 

Suzy was left speechless. 

He had the same audacity as Dylan, making decisions on his own. 

“Honestly, I don’t need your permission anyway. I am a Harlow, after all,” Hawk said, his tone all too casual. “With Claude and Julian both gone, it’s only right for me, as a member of the family, to shoulder my responsibilities.” 

As he spoke, he rose from the executive chair, rounding the desk to stand in front of her.” Don’t worry, Junior. I’m not here to compete for the CEO position. You’ll remain president of Harlow Corp; I’ll simply be your personal assistant. Think of it as helping look after the company for Claude–and looking after you.” 

Suzy pointed toward the door. “You can get out. Now.” 

“Come on, Junior. No need to be angry. He’s just an ex–husband, after all. There are plenty of better men out there… like me.” Hawk leaned in closer, a playful grin on his face. “And I’d never betray you.” 

His expression was mischievous, but there was genuine warmth in his gaze. 

Suzy remained impassive, her tone icy. “You’re out of my league.” 

Hawk noted the disdain in her eyes, but he only smirked. “I’ll leave for now, but call if you need me, Junior.” 

Without waiting for her agreement, Hawk made himself at home at Harlow Corporation. He not only went public with his identity as a Harlow but also, without consulting her, dismissed her original assistant. 

Suzy found his actions utterly grating, but she held her composure. Instead of confronting him directly, she pressed her intercom and said, “Please gather all the annual financial reports for the company. I want them on my desk by the end of the day.” 

If he wanted to be her assistant, she’d be sure to let him prove it. 

Harlow Corporation had nearly three decades of history behind it. Completing all those reports wasn’t a task for a single day–one week would barely be enough. So, when Hawk showed up before the end of the day with a towering stack of files, Suzy was taken aback.

He set the hefty pile on her desk. “Junior, is this up to your standards?” 

Without even glancing at it, Suzy said, “As an employee of Harlow Corp, you’re bound by confidentiality. Sharing or mishandling data violates company policy. Don’t bother coming in tomorrow.” 

Hawk raised an eyebrow. “So, you’re saying you think I had help?” 

Suzy shrugged. “Whether you did or didn’t, you know the answer better than anyone.” 

Five hours was nowhere near enough time to complete what would typically take a week- unless he was superhuman.
