Chapter 0211
As Victor finished his sentence, the door was abruptly kicked open from the outside, startling him so much that he thought Suzy had arrived. He quickly clammed up, not daring to say another word.
He didn’t even look toward the door until a cool, crisp voice rang out.
“Victor Steele, why didn’t you answer your phone?”
Seeing that it was Nadia, Victor’s irritation flared instantly. “Because I don’t want to!”
In truth, he had left his phone upstairs when he went down to open the door for Dylan earlier. But he wasn’t about to explain himself to Nadia–not because he wasn’t the type to explain, but because, in his eyes, she didn’t deserve it.
“Who said I’m obligated to take your calls?” Victor’s gaze toward Nadia was dripping with mockery. “Don’t forget, Nadia–you’re just a stray my family took in. If you’re going to act like a bitch, then learn your place and stop barking at your master whenever you feel like -it!”
Dylan was left speechless.
In the past, Dylan never thought much about Victor’s attitude toward Nadia. After all, it was obvious he didn’t care for her. But now…
After everything Dylan had been through with Suzy, he found Victor’s words to Nadia unnecessarily harsh.
He didn’t see the need for Victor to speak so crudely to someone he didn’t even love.
Words like these would only come back to haunt him one day if he ever regretted them. Unless Victor was absolutely certain he’d never have second thoughts, he might come to regret every cutting remark he made today.
With that thought, Dylan–who rarely meddled in others‘ affairs–gave Victor an unhappy glance and said, “She’s only worried about you.‘
Victor let out a cold laugh, clearly unmoved. “I don’t need anyone’s concern, least of all hers! She drives me insane just by being here.
“It’s been nearly twenty years. She was brought into the Steele family at five, told she’d be my future bride, and she’s been clinging to me ever since! I’ve tried everything to get away from her–hell, I even faked my death for over a year! And yet she still refuses to leave me alone!”
Victor’s disgust for Nadia was palpable. “Are there no other men in the world, Nadia? Why do you have to keep pestering me?”

Chapter 0211
Victor’s tirade didn’t seem to faze Nadia. Her flawless face remained expressionless, her demeanor as cold as ever. Ignoring Victor entirely, she turned to Dylan and said calmly, ” Mr. Wright, I need to have a private word with him. Could you please step out?”
With Nadia’s insistence, Dylan had no choice but to leave.
Before stepping out, he offered Victor a piece of advice. “Don’t burn all your bridges. You don’t want to end up like me.”
As he thought of Suzy’s current attitude toward him, a sharp ache pierced Dylan’s chest.
He had to expose Claude’s true identity as soon as possible.
Determined, Dylan left Victor’s residence and immediately pulled out his phone. He dialed a number he wouldn’t normally call unless he had absolutely no other choice.
“Boss, there’s movement from the Yellowtail Squadron.”
Suzy had just returned to her office after a meeting when she received a call from Allen.
Quickly locking the door to prevent that pest Hawk from barging in again, she asked, What’s going on?”
((
“I’ve had Avalon keeping tabs on the Yellowtail Squadron’s website,” Allen said, his tone serious. “She called me earlier to say someone just posted a message on their internal network.”
“What kind of message?”
“Oddly enough, it’s about investigating Claude Harlow.”
“Investigating Claude?”
“Exactly,” Allen replied, clearly puzzled. “Claude’s been gone for a long time. Why would
the Yellowtail Squadron put out a message like that now?”
Suzy couldn’t make sense of it either. “Did you find out who posted it?”
