Chapter 0275
Charlotte’s sudden act stunned everyone in the room, catching them completely off guard.
Suzy froze for several seconds before snapping back to reality. She rushed forward, snatching the knife from Charlotte’s hand and grabbing tissues from the table to press against the wound.
“Leave me alone!” Charlotte swatted Suzy’s hands away, her voice trembling with emotion.
Suzy didn’t respond, instead forcing her hands back onto the wound to stop the bleeding Charlotte shoved her away again, weaker this time.
“If you don’t believe me, then don’t bother trying to save me…
“Stop moving!” Suzy’s voice rose into an almost feral growl, her frustration and fear spilling over.
Tears streamed down Charlotte’s face as she choked out, “Suzy, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have lied to you, no matter the reason. I’m sorry, truly sorry. I’m not asking for your forgiveness–just don’t hate me. Please don’t hate me. I only wanted to protect you, to stop you from making the same mistakes again.”
Suzy’s eyes were bloodshot, her voice shaking with suppressed rage. “I don’t want to hear another word from you right now!”
The wound was deep, and every time Charlotte spoke, blood poured out faster. Suzy knew she couldn’t afford to hate her–not when Charlotte was her last family member, no matter the betrayal.
Seeing Suzy’s turmoil, Charlotte’s gaze softened, but she feigned more agony, her breathing turning ragged. “So…you really hate me that much…”
Before she could finish, her breathing grew labored, her voice faltering. “Suzy… I can’t bear to leave you like this. Forgive me, please…”
Her face twisted in pain, and her body trembled as though her life was slipping away.
Suzy clenched her jaw, veins bulging on her forehead, her emotions threatening to explode.
As Charlotte’s breathing grew shallow, Suzy finally roared, “I forgive you!”
Charlotte’s eyes lit up briefly, her expression one of relief. “Re…really? That’s… wonderful. Now I can… face your parents… with peace.
Her breath hitched, and her grip on Suzy’s hand tightened as she whispered her final request, “Suzy… don’t cremate me. I don’t want to leave this world incomplete…”
With those words, Charlotte’s hand went limp, and her breathing ceased.

“Aunt…” Suzy’s cry was guttural, filled with anguish as she shook her lifeless body.
Was she really dead?
Dylan’s brows furrowed deeply, his expression dark as he took in the scene. He hadn’t expected Charlotte to go to such lengths to prove her innocence.
Meanwhile, Anne stood off to the side, her gaze flickering with a faint glint. A sly, almost imperceptible smirk crossed her lips before vanishing as quickly as it had appeared.
Charlotte’s sudden death was a devastating blow to Suzy
She sat by the body, her thoughts spiraling into regret.
“If I hadn’t confronted her… would she still be alive?” she murmured softly to herself. “If I’d just forgiven her sooner, she wouldn’t have felt the need to prove herself by dying…”
Her voice wavered as she stared at Charlotte’s lifeless form.
Nearby, Allen and Riley exchanged uneasy glances, both deeply unsettled by Suzy’s despair.
Riley stepped forward, her tone gentle. “Boss, don’t do this to yourself. None of this is your fault.
“Exactly,” Allen added, his voice soft with empathy. “You didn’t want this to happen. You know how headstrong your aunt was. She couldn’t stand being doubted or misunderstood.
Suzy shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. “I knew her temper. I knew she couldn’t handle even a little pressure. So why did I push her so hard?”
Images of the earlier confrontation flashed in her mind–Charlotte’s desperate attempts to explain herself, her repeated confessions. Suzy had refused to believe her, time and time again.
Her voice cracked as she whispered, “She explained everything, over and over. She admitted her mistakes. And yet… I still pushed her to her death.”
Her chest tightened painfully as reality set in. “She was my only family… and I drove her to
this.
The thought of how deeply she had doubted Charlotte haunted her. At one point, Suzy had even suspected her aunt of being the one behind her parents‘ and brothers’.murders. But how could that be true?
