Chapter 0287
Suzy stared at the man standing in front of her
It was Dylan, without a doubt, but something about his eyes was off–like he didn’t recognize her at all.
Riley noticed it too and asked bluntly, “You don’t recognize Boss?”
Dylan glanced at Riley but didn’t respond. Instead, he pointed at Victor and asked Suzy, He
e just said you’re my wife. Is that true?”
“No,” Suzy replied with a faint smile.
“If you’re not my wife, then why are you here looking for me?” Dylan’s sharp gaze locked onto her. “I’ve lost my memory, not my intelligence.”
Victor stepped forward, his expression one of disbelief. “Dylan, are you saying you’ve lost your memory?”
“Who are you?” Dylan asked, ignoring the question.
Victor hurriedly introduced himself. “I’m Victor Steele. We grew up together–we’ve been best friends since we were kids.”
“If you’re my best friend, and you said she’s my wife earlier, then that means it must be
true,”
Suzy took a deep breath, her lips curling into a cold smile. “Dylan, I don’t care if you’ve really lost your memory or if you’re just pretending. Listen carefully: I’m not your wife. I’m your ex–wife.”
Dylan frowned deeply. “If you’re my ex–wife, then why did he just call you my wife?”
“Because he has a big mouth,” Suzy said, shooting Victor a glare.
Victor shifted uncomfortably and mumbled, “Well, since we’ve found you, I’d better call Madam Grace and let her know the good news!”
Without waiting for a response, he turned and left in a hurry.
Suzy decided there was no reason for her to stay any longer. She didn’t believe for a second that Dylan had really lost his memory. Now that he’d been found, her involvement was
over.
Turning to Riley, she said, “You handle the rest.”
With that, she headed toward the door.
“Wait!”

Suzy ignored him and kept walking.
“She saved me, and you don’t even have a word of thanks?”
Suzy kept walking, ignoring him entirely. No matter what Dylan said, she acted like she didn’t hear him, her steps
faltering.
Suddenly, he grabbed her hand. “Are you always this rude?”
Suzy yanked her hand free and snapped, “First of all, the one she saved is you, not me. Second, do you really think shouting at people counts as polite?”
Dylan, completely unfazed, replied as if it were the most natural thing in the world, You’re my wife. She saved your husband. Doesn’t that mean you owe her a thank you?”
Suzy was utterly speechless. “Ex–wife. Got it?”
“An ex–wife is still a wife,” Dylan said, his gaze dark and unwavering as it bore into hers.” We were married, and that makes us family. So, from now on, you’ll be helping me recover my lost memories.”
What kind of twisted logic was that?
