Following Nadia’s wishes, Suzy didn’t tell Victor the truth. 

Instead, she simply said, “She worked herself up too much.” 

“…Is it serious?” 

Victor frowned. He’d done plenty to upset her in the past, but she’d never reacted like this. Why was it so extreme this time? 

The more he thought about it, the more certain he became that it all had to do with the guy she was seeing. 

She was so determined to keep her virginity for that guy that she couldn’t stand Victor’s touch. 

The idea of how much Nadia cared about that guy left Victor simmering with frustration. What could she possibly see in him? He was rail–thin, broke, and had nothing to his name. Sure, his face was decent, but compared to Victor, it wasn’t even a competition.

“What do you think?” Suzy snapped, rolling her eyes at Victor. “What the hell did you do to make her so furious she ended up coughing blood?” 

Victor was speechless. He couldn’t possibly admit it was because he’d forced himself on her. 

The truth was, Suzy already knew what had caused it after examining Nadia earlier. She just wanted to press Victor, because there were things he needed to hear. 

After all, Nadia’s current condition couldn’t withstand any more of his recklessness. 

“She nearly died from the combination of coughing up blood and going into shock. She was lucky this time, but if it happens again, she might not survive it,” Suzy said, her tone firm and severe as she stared him down. 

“Victor Steele, there are some things I wouldn’t normally say, but since you brought her to me, I have a responsibility as her doctor to tell you the truth. 

“Ask yourself honestly–do you truly only feel contempt for her? If you do, then let her go. Set her free. But if not, then maybe it’s time to figure out how you really feel and decide what kind of relationship you want to have with her moving forward.” 

Victor was stunned into silence by Suzy’s words, unable to come up with a response. 

His mind was a tangled mess, his emotions even more so. He had no idea what to think or

As he stood there, caught in his indecision, he looked up and saw Nadia standing at the top of the stairs. 

Almost instinctively, the words tumbled out of his mouth. “Of course, I only feel contempt for her. If it weren’t for my grandfather liking for her. If it weren’t for my grandfather liking her, I wouldn’t care whether she lived or 

died. 

“But even if I don’t love her, I’m not letting her go. She’s tormented me for years, and now she thinks she can just claim she’s found her ‘true love‘ and expect me to step aside? What a joke! Whatever she put me through, I’ll make sure she gets back a hundred fold.”
