After finishing the prescription, Allen packed up his medical kit. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way.” 

Just as Allen slung his bag over his shoulder and prepared to leave, Dylan finally asked, “Is Suzy really that busy?” 

Why else would she agree to come but send Allen instead? She had to be busy. Otherwise, she would have come. 

“Nope, not busy at all,” Allen replied, turning back with a grin. “Last night, she went to a nightclub, met some handsome guy, and had such a great time she didn’t get home until near dawn. When Desmond called her, she was still asleep, so she sent me instead.” 

Dylan was speechless. 

What kind of man could keep her out until nearly sunrise? 

Seeing Dylan’s expression darken, Allen’s eyes glinted mischievously. “Seems like my boss might have a thing for that guy. I’ve never seen her treat anyone so well before. “Of course, she used to treat you pretty well too, but you didn’t appreciate it. And that guy? He seems to be into her as well. Dylan pressed the intercom button and called for Desmond. “Escort Mr. Wheeler out.” Desmond walked in, only to pause in confusion at the sight of Allen with his medical bag. Moments ago, he’d calculated the timing and figured Suzy should be arriving soon, so he had gone out of his way to clear the assistant’s office to ensure Dylan and Suzy could have some uninterrupted time alone. 

He had no idea Allen would show up instead. 

It took him a moment to gather himself before saying, “Mr. Wheeler, this way, please.” Nodding slightly at Desmond, Allen headed out first. 

In the elevator, Desmond couldn’t hold back his curiosity. “Mr. Wheeler, why didn’t Mrs. Wright come?” 

“My boss told you ages ago to stop calling her that, but even now, you haven’t changed,” Allen said to Desmond with a smirk that carried a hint of mockery. 

“I suggest you change it soon. Who knows? She might end up with someone else before
