Chapter 0462
Evangeline was thirty–five years old but maintained herself so well that she looked like she was in her twenties.
After changing her clothes, she headed to the dining room for dinner, while Suzy stayed behind in her room to clean.
Taking the opportunity while tidying up, Suzy discreetly searched every corner of the room. Behind the vanity mirror, she discovered a hidden compartment.
Just as she was about to open it, her phone rang
It was Steven calling.
Clearing her throat, Suzy quickly pressed the answer button. “Are you back from your mother’s place?”
“Yes, but where did you go?”
Steven had been staying at his mother’s villa for a few days. Not seeing Suzy when he returned made him panic.
Hearing the concern in his voice, Suzy hurried to reassure him. “Don’t worry. I was just bored staying at home alone, so I joined a tour group to explore a bit.”
“Where are you right now? I’ll come find you.”
“There’s no need!” Suzy quickly stopped him. “I’ll be back by tomorrow afternoon. Don’t go running around. It’s too tiring.”
“I don’t mind. I’m not tired!”
“Still, it’s unnecessary. I’ll be back by midday tomorrow. There’s really no need for you to
come…”
After a lot of back–and–forth, Steven finally agreed. Once the call ended, Suzy exhaled deeply.
If she had known he was this persistent, she would have just said she needed to return to her country for business.
Putting her phone back into her pocket, Suzy opened the hidden compartment behind the vanity mirror. Inside, she found a safe.
Examining it briefly, she realized it was a highly specialized lock system connected to the estate’s entire firewall. It wasn’t something she could tamper with lightly.
Pressing her lips together, Suzy closed the hidden compartment and left the room, acting as if nothing had happened.

After leaving, Suzy used her phone to activate the room’s surveillance cameras.
On her way back to the servants‘ quarters, she pondered how she might unlock the safe.
Since she had promised Steven she’d return, Suzy decided to leave the estate later that night. After ensuring Evangeline was asleep, she quietly slipped out of the manor.
She exited through the back door of the estate, where the surveillance coverage wasn’t as thorough.
Just as she was about to climb over the wall, she suddenly heard a noise from the other side.
Suzy quickly ducked into a concealed corner to hide.
Moments later, someone leapt over the wall and entered the estate.
A thief? Or an assassin?
As these thoughts raced through her mind, the clouds shifted, allowing the moonlight to illuminate the person’s face.
With just one glance, Suzy’s eyes widened in shock. That face…
It couldn’t be. It was impossible!
She quietly followed the person, watching as he made his way into Evangeline’s room.
Him and Evangeline…?
Even after returning to the wall near the back door, Suzy’s heartbeat was far from steady. She couldn’t believe it. Of all places, she encountered… him here.
Trying to calm her racing heart, she stayed hidden in the shadows, determined to see when
