Chapter 0519
Helena couldn’t accept it at all. After so many years, she’d been hating the wrong person. Dylan, you’ve done all this just to clear your father’s name!
“I investigated this countless times back then. It was your father, not anyone else. So, stop making excuses!”
She was convinced she hadn’t mistaken the man. The one who had abandoned her mother was Jacob, not some man with a similar name.
Her mother, as the crown heir of Xandria, would never have fallen for anyone else.
Seeing how unyielding Helena was, Dylan no longer felt like explaining. “That’s the truth. If you refuse to believe it, there’s nothing more I can do.”
He had already said everything that needed to be said. Steering his wheelchair, he turned to leave.
“Wait!” Helena called out.
“What is it now?” Dylan turned back.
“You just said your father would never betray your mother. Why are you so certain?”
“Because my father owes his life to my mother,” Dylan replied, his voice calm. “When they were dating, my father became a vegetative patient due to an accident.
“Everyone thought my mother would leave him, but she didn’t. She cared for him tirelessly for more than three years, eventually pulling him back from the brink of death. Do you think any man would betray a woman like that?”
Helena was speechless.
Could she really have hated the wrong person all this time?
Noticing Helena’s emotional shift, Dylan added, “As for the Jacob Wright who deceived your mother, I will help you find him.”
With those words, Dylan said no more. He turned and wheeled himself out of Helena’s
room.
After receiving Allen’s message, Riley immediately informed Suzy.

“So, it turns out this was all a misunderstanding from the previous generation!”
Suzy found the situation both amusing and frustrating. “So, Helena went through all that trouble for nothing?”

“Exactly!” Riley couldn’t help laughing as well. I bet she’s regretting everything now! “Honestly, how did she even become empress? With that level of intelligence, I don’t even know what to say! No wonder the economy of Xandria plummeted during her reign.
“Good thing she faked her death later on. Otherwise, if she’d continued leading the country for a few more years, it really would’ve been ruined!”
Suzy was reminded of something by Riley’s remark. “Perhaps faking her death wasn’t her idea. Someone might have pushed her to do it.
“Are you suggesting that Helena might have been manipulated by Serena?”
