It all made sense now. She’d thought Suzy was so easy to manipulate, but it turned out she had been setting her up the whole time. 

Though inwardly fuming, Serena kept her façade intact. “Miss Frost, what are you talking about? I don’t understand a word of it.” 

“Still pretending?” Suzy said with a cold smirk. “You must be really confident in your acting skills.”

“You’ve been scheming to take everything Evangeline has. You encouraged Helena to target your own sister. But you underestimated Evangeline’s incredible luck. No matter how meticulous your plans were, she escaped them every single time. 

“So, you turned your attention to me. You thought hiring the world’s top assassin- someone who’s never failed a mission–would make eliminating Evangeline a sure thing.
