Back in her room, Suzy couldn’t stop replaying the image of Dylan avoiding her. 

The truth was, she didn’t truly want to reconcile with him. Even if it was for Grace and Diana, it wasn’t something she felt compelled to do. 

The real reason she had gone through all this trouble was that she didn’t want to owe him anything. 

But if he was so determined to push her away, then fine–this would be the end of it. 

She had given him plenty of chances, more than once. Continuing to pursue him now would only make her seem desperate, and that wasn’t who she was. 

With that thought, Suzy began packing her bags. Once done, she called Riley and Allen, instructing them to do the same and meet her in the lobby in ten minutes. 

True to their word, Riley and Allen showed up right on time. Not seeing Dylan or Victor anywhere, they exchanged a glance. 

Though curious, they didn’t ask questions and waited for Suzy’s next instructions. 

When she saw they were ready, Suzy simply said, “‘Let’s go.” 

The two exchanged another quick glance. As Suzy turned to lead the way, Riley leaned close to Allen and whispered, “Didn’t Boss say she didn’t care about whatever was going on between Dylan and Helena? So why are we suddenly leaving?” 

Allen glanced at Suzy’s back before responding quietly, “Maybe something urgent came up.” 

“Could be,” Riley agreed, nodding thoughtfully. Maybe there’s news about her father. That would explain why she’s in such a hurry.” 

Suzy’s keen hearing picked up their murmurs, but she didn’t acknowledge it. 

The car they had arranged was already waiting at the hotel entrance. After they all climbed in, the vehicle drove for about half an hour to a remote, open area. 

A helicopter was waiting for them, ready to depart. 

As they approached, Suzy stopped and turned to them. “You two head back first. I’m going to find my father.” 

Riley and Allen were immediately resistant. 

“Do you have a lead?” Riley asked, concern etched on his face. 

“No.” 

“No leads at all? Then where are you planning to start?” Allen frowned deeply, his expression tense. “Even if you want to search, we’ll do it together. How can you go alone?”
