Suzy blocked the man’s escape and switched on the lights. But before she could act, the man quickly spun around and grabbed Tanya, wrapping an arm tightly around her neck.
“Don’t move or I’ll kill her!”
If there was one thing Suzy hated, it was being threatened. Her expression turned cold as she replied, “Go ahead, kill her. After all, she’s nothing more than bait I used to lure you here.”
If anyone else had heard those words, they might have been devastated. But Tanya knew better -Suzy was saying it on purpose.

“A friend?” Suzy scoffed. “If you truly saw me as a friend, why have you been so reluctant to name the man pulling the strings?
“Stop pretending, Tanya. You’re no better than me. We’re both just out for what we want. “And don’t think I don’t see through you. The only reason you’re still here is to use me to nurse you back to health. So, drop the holier–than–thou act!”
“I’m not–I didn’t!” Tanya’s whole body trembled with anger. “Yes, I shouldn’t have hidden his identity, but I had my reasons…

Seeing Tanya on the verge of saying something she shouldn’t, the man tightened his grip around her neck. “Have you two talked enough yet?”
He leaned slightly out from behind Tanya, revealing his eyes. “Suzy, your acting skills are

impressive, but not enough to fool me. This is your final warning. Let me go, or Tanya dies today!”
Suzy stared at him, her gaze steady. Those eyes were unfamiliar, making it impossible for her to identify who he was.
“I don’t get it, you’re clearly one of Charlotte’s people. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have helped her hide my father.
