Chapter 0013
Chapter 0613
Suzy’s first reaction to Dylan’s overbearing behavior was to shove him away, a cold, mocking smile spreading across her face. “Dylan, you must’ve forgotten the terms of our agreement, haven’t you?
“You’re not even that old yet, but your memory’s already failing? It’s only been a few days, and you’ve completely forgotten what you promised me?” Suzy jabbed her finger into his chest repeatedly. “Your actions just now broke my rules. From this moment on, you’re no longer my friend!”
Dylan, however, was completely unfazed by her words. He seized the hand she was using to poke him. “Suzy, you’re right. The initiative between us is entirely in your hands right now, and I’m willing to let you control everything.
“Whatever you want to do, I’ll go along with it. But…”
He tightened his grip on her hand, his piercing eyes fixed on her without wavering. “I will never give up on you. Not now, not ever.”
With that, Dylan released her hand, not giving her a chance to respond, and turned his wheelchair toward the door.
Suzy watched his retreating figure, her watery eyes flickering briefly, concealing the true emotions buried within. When Dylan reached the door, she finally spoke, her tone calm and unhurried. “Let’s see how long you can hold out. I’ve got a lifetime to wait you out if that’s
what it takes.” 1
Dylan paused but didn’t look back. “Fine.”
Outside, Allen and Desmond, who had been eavesdropping, exchanged glances.
“Called it,” Allen muttered.
Desmond raised an eyebrow. “Called what?”
Allen gave him a knowing look. “You seriously haven’t figured it out yet?”
Desmond stared back, puzzled. “Figured out what? Oh, you mean how my boss is completely at the mercy of yours?
“Yeah, no kidding. My boss has never bowed and scraped for anyone–not even Grace. But in front of your boss? He’s practically a lapdog.
“I’ve seen men grovel for love, but this? This is next–level. If it were any other woman, she would’ve softened ages ago. But your boss? She’s the top assassin on every hit list for a reason -she’s absolutely ruthless!”
Desmond’s words started to grate on Allen’s nerves. “What’s this? Feeling bad for your boss now? Let’s get one thing straight–my boss gave him plenty of chances. It’s not her fault he
didn’t take them!

“We were all there, trying to talk some sense into him, but he insisted on being stubborn and swore he’d never regret it. And now you’re saying all this? Don’t you think you’re running your mouth a bit much?”
Nobody, absolutely nobody, was allowed to badmouth his boss, not on Allen’s watch.
Seeing Allen getting riled up, Desmond quickly backtracked. “Allen, you’ve got it wrong. That’s not what I meant at all. I’m just saying my boss brought this on himself. Mrs. Wright gave him a chance, and he didn’t take it. If he regrets it now, that’s on him.
