Chapter 0648
So, this was the truth she had been searching for all these days?
Suzy found it hard to accept.
“Where is he?” she asked, her gaze fixed on Zack. Her words came slowly, deliberately. “Take me to him.”
“He’s gone,” Zack replied. “As for where he went, he didn’t tell me. He’s the master, and I’m just a subordinate. If he doesn’t say I don’t ask. I really don’t know where he is now. Everything I’ve said is true–not a single word is a lie. If you don’t believe me, you can confront him when you find him.”
Feeling exhausted, Suzy gestured for Allen to take Zack away. She herself turned to go upstairs, intending to rest.
“Don’t think too much…” Dylan began cautiously, knowing she wouldn’t want to hear from him, but unable to keep quiet. He was worried about her. “Everything Zack said could be a lie. The truth isn’t confirmed yet. None of Charlotte’s men are trustworthy–this could just be an attempt to sow discord between you and your
father.”
Suzy paused and glanced back at Dylan. “Will you go somewhere with me?”
“What?” He was momentarily stunned.
“What, you don’t want to?”
“Of course I do!” he said quickly, recovering from his surprise. He hadn’t expected her to ask for his company, assuming she didn’t want to deal with him at all.

The place she wanted Dylan to accompany her to wasn’t anywhere random. It was her mother’s grave.
Placing the fruits and flowers she had brought in front of the gravestone, Suzy knelt

down. “Mom, I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to visit you. I’ve been searching for Dad
She paused for a moment before continuing “That’s right, Dad is still alive. And so is my older brother! He’s married now, and he and my sister–in–law are very happy together. As for Dad…”
Her voice faltered, and she struggled to go on. “I’ve recently found him, but he’s no longer the man he used to be. He knows I’m his daughter, yet he pretends not to recognize me. He even plotted to escape from me…‘
Suzy hadn’t intended to cry, but as she spoke, she couldn’t hold back. Tears streamed down her face. “Mom, it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t developed the Mind- Eater poison back then, Charlotte wouldn’t have succeeded. Dad wouldn’t have ended up like this. Everything that’s happened is because of me.”
