She was famished after going so long without food, but after just a couple of bites, her stomach began to churn uncomfortably. 

She couldn’t take another bite. Feeling nauseous, she decided to head back upstairs to continue working on the files. 

Before she could leave, Dylan suddenly grabbed her hand. “Eat a little more.” 

“No, I’m fine. I’m not hungry anymore-” 

Before she could finish, he stuffed a piece of meat into her mouth. The discomfort in her stomach surged instantly, and nausea overwhelmed her. 

She shoved his hand away and bolted to the bathroom, where she threw up everything she had just eaten. 

Even the bile in her stomach came up before she finally started to feel a little better. 

Dylan followed closely behind, worry etched on his face. He held a glass of water, offering it to her as soon as she was done. “Here, drink some water. It’ll help.” 

Suzy didn’t say anything, taking the glass and sipping twice, only for her stomach to revolt again. She vomited almost immediately. 

Dylan’s dark eyes flickered with realization. 

“Suzy, that night you helped me detoxify–was it you? And if you’re feeling like this… could it be that you’re pregnant?” 

Suzy froze mid–rinse, her movements pausing for a few seconds before she turned to him, her face full of mockery. 

“Don’t talk nonsense if you don’t know the basics. Even if it had been me that night–which it wasn’t–it’s way too soon to have symptoms like this. And for the record, it wasn’t me!” 

“I just haven’t eaten for days, and my stomach’s acting up. If you don’t believe me, try going a few days without food yourself and see if you end up like me,” Suzy said sharply. 

Standing in the doorway, Allen couldn’t help but laugh.
