Chapter 0685
Chapter 0685
Zoe’s notes only detailed some of the person’s habits and behavior.
Beyond that, there was nothing else—she had never actually seen the person.
It was from these patterns and actions that the suspicion arose: could Claude still be alive? The similarities were striking.
To confirm whether it was really Claude, Suzy went to his gravesite and had the urn containing his ashes retrieved for DNA testing.
But when the casket was opened, it was completely empty
The urn that once held Claude’s ashes was gone.
“What’s going on?” Allen, who had come along, looked utterly stunned.
“The ashes are missing! It looks like someone’s been monitoring our every move. But why steal the ashes? Was it to hide their identity?
“If that was the case, didn’t it suggest that Claude might actually still be alive? Afraid of his identity being revealed, he might have removed the ashes before we could verify anything.”
While that seemed logical, Suzy felt otherwise.
Claude couldn’t possibly still be alive.
Back when he died, Suzy had gone to great lengths to confirm his identity, conducting multiple verifications to ensure there was no deception.
The body they buried showed no abnormalities, and all of Claude’s physical characteristics had been accounted for. The most likely explanation now was that someone was using Claude’s name to obscure their true identity.
But who would be so desperate to remain hidden?
“Call Raven. Get her here,” Suzy instructed.
Allen immediately pulled out his phone to contact Raven.
In no time, Raven arrived.
Normally, it would take forty minutes to drive from her location, but she made it in just over twenty.
She understood that Suzy rarely called for her, especially now that she had a child, and Suzy didn’t want to inconvenience her.
That was just how considerate their boss was.
The moment Raven stepped out of the car, she hurried over to Suzy. “Boss, just tell me what you need, and I’ll get it done right away!”
“Collect every fingerprint and footprint from the area. Once you’ve ruled out our team, pass the remaining data to Allen,” Suzy instructed, her gaze fixed unwaveringly on Claude’s gravestone.
The complex emotions in her eyes were impossible to decipher.
Raven nodded immediately. “Got it. I’ll get started now.”
