Timothy’s face was filled with regret.
"Charlotte is the only person in this world who truly cares about me. And you, you ungrateful daughter, put on a show of being dutiful, but it’s all a façade!
"If you were really filial, you wouldn’t stop me from being with Charlotte!"
Suzy had heard enough of his nonsense.
"Yes, yes, Charlotte is the best. So now, go back and find the antidote. Because if something really happens to Dylan, you’ll never see your precious Charlotte again!"
"You’re right, I need to find the antidote!" Timothy said, panicking. "But Charlotte never let me into her lab, and even if I get in, I won’t know which one’s the antidote!"
Fretting, Timothy turned and hurried toward the door.
As he rushed out, Suzy slapped Dylan lightly on his blood-covered chest. "Alright, stop faking."
"Of course, I couldn’t fool you," Dylan said with a faint smile, sitting up straight. He pulled out the blood bag strapped under his shirt.
When the receptionist reported that Timothy was coming in with a knife, Dylan instructed Desmond to prepare everything.
Suzy rolled her eyes. "I thought it was strange why you didn’t dodge or let me treat you. Turns out, you had it all planned out."
She was relieved it was all an act. If he’d truly been stabbed...
That thought made her pause. She knelt down, picked up the knife Timothy had dropped, and brought it to her nose for a sniff.
"Red Spider Lily," she murmured.
"What?" Dylan frowned, confused.
His eyes burned with intensity as he added, "Now, come on, Mrs. Wright—help me with this bath!"
