CEO Broke Down and Cried After I Divorced Him novel Chapter 745

The sudden hypnosis that drove Timothy to set himself on fire now made perfect sense.

It was all a ploy to draw Suzy away from Dylan’s side.

Why else would they do something so drastic, knowing full well she would have someone tailing her father?

At first, Suzy thought it was meant as a warning, but now she realized the true target was Dylan.

The realization hit her like a thunderclap.

Without a moment to spare, Suzy sprinted out of the hospital, rushing back to the Wright Corporation as quickly as she could.

When she arrived, the door to the CEO’s office was locked.

She knocked several times, but there was no response. Each second of silence tightened the knot of anxiety in her chest.

The lock on the office door was a custom security design, nearly impossible to breach without the right tools.

Desperate, Suzy instructed Dylan’s assistant to get the security team and retrieve the spare key.

Thankfully, the security team had a backup. Once the door was unlocked, Suzy rushed inside, only to find the office empty.

Panic gripped her. Dylan was nowhere to be seen. The worst-case scenario loomed large in her mind—something had happened to him.

Though her rational side told her it might already be too late, as long as she hadn’t seen him hurt or worse, a sliver of hope remained.

She clung to the thought that maybe, just maybe, she was overreacting.

Perhaps Dylan hadn’t heard her knocking because he was resting.

Clinging to this fragile hope, Suzy ran to the door of the lounge. Her hand hovered over the doorknob as she took several deep breaths, trying to steady herself.

In her heart, she prayed over and over: Please, don’t let anything happen to him.

She had never been a superstitious person, but in that moment, she begged whatever higher power might be listening to keep Dylan safe.

After several deep breaths, she finally turned the handle.

As the door opened, she saw Dylan lying on the bed, as if he were merely asleep. Relief washed over her like a tidal wave. “So, he really was just sleeping.”

But deep down, Suzy knew she was only fooling herself.

Suzy called for the receptionist and questioned her. When she learned it was Diana who visited, her brows knitted tightly. “And besides her, was there anyone else?”

“No one else, Mrs. Wright. Only Miss Diana came by.”

So, it was Diana who poisoned Dylan?

But how could that be possible?

Suzy refused to accept it.

She pulled out her phone and called Diana, but no one answered.

She tried several times, each with the same result. Her eyes darkened with worry as she dialed Grace instead.

Grace answered quickly. “Suzy, why did you call me at such a time? Is there something wrong?”

“Oh, nothing serious,” Suzy said, masking her concern.

“I just wanted to check if you’ve had lunch yet.” She avoided directly asking whether Diana was home, not wanting to alarm Grace.
