Elliot woke up at just the right moment to hear everything Allen had just said.
With a wounded expression, he looked at Suzy. “Mentor, even if you don’t want to help detoxify me, you didn’t have to go that far…”
Suzy felt a headache coming on. “Allen was just talking nonsense…”
Before she could finish, Elliot interrupted her. “That’s only because I woke up in time. If I hadn’t, you probably would have done as he said, wouldn’t you?”
Suzy could tell he was starting to overthink the matter again.
“Elliot, your condition isn’t suited for overanalyzing right now. Go back to your room and get some rest. As for the poison, I’ll find a way to cure you.”
With that, she turned and left.
Dealing with someone as stubborn as Elliot, she really didn’t know what to do sometimes.
As soon as she was gone, Elliot’s gaze darkened slightly.
Then he turned to Allen and said, “Take me away from here.”
“Where do you want to go?” Allen frowned deeply.
“We finally managed to get you back, and now you’re thinking of leaving again?”
“Anywhere is fine,” Elliot said with a bitter smile.
“There’s no cure for this poison anyway. Staying here is a dead end, and all I’ll do is cause trouble for my mentor. Leaving is what’s best for everyone.”
“Best my ass!”
Allen nearly wanted to crack open his skull to see what was inside.
“Elliot, out of respect for the fact that you call me your senior, I won’t beat you up today. But if you keep whining, I can’t promise I’ll hold back.
“If you really don’t want to trouble your mentor, then stop talking about making her use her body to cure you.
