A chance like this only came once…
If it were the old Diana, she wouldn’t have hesitated to slap him again and tell him to get as far away from her as possible.
But now, she was deeply in love with him.
Even though she knew he didn’t care about her in the slightest, she still loved him.
She couldn’t explain why.
From the moment they met, she knew he was in love with Suzy, yet she fell for him anyway, completely and helplessly.
Diana never truly understood what it meant to love without reason, to fall so deeply without control until she met Elliot.
That was exactly how she felt about him.
She didn’t know when it started, only that once it did, she was powerless to stop it.
When she remained silent, Elliot pressed impatiently, “Have you made up your mind? If you don’t want to, that’s fine. It’s entirely up to you.”
He didn’t say it outright, but Diana knew—if she said no, she would never have another chance to stay by his side.
So…
“Fine!” she said, throwing caution to the wind.
“But I have one condition.”
Elliot laughed. “You’re in no position to negotiate with me.”
“Oh? So it’s fine when you set the terms, but not when I do?” Diana mimicked his tone.
“Or is it that you’re afraid you can’t agree to mine, so you won’t even let me say it?”
“Diana, don’t bother trying to provoke me. You need to understand your place here.”
His smirk was full of contempt.
“You’re the one insisting on following me, not the other way around.
“Since you’ve agreed to my terms, don’t try playing games. Otherwise, I’ll pretend this conversation never happened.”
With that, he turned to leave.
Panicking, Diana hurried after him. “I’m not asking for much. I just want one thing—for as long as you’re with me, there can’t be anyone else.”
“You don’t get to decide that,” Elliot said coldly, never breaking his stride.
