CEO Broke Down and Cried After I Divorced Him novel Chapter 825

Helena was completely stunned when she heard Suzy say she wanted to team up against Evangeline.

"You not only believe me, but you also want to help me go against her?"

"Yeah. What, is that a problem?" Suzy’s face was full of anger.

"She not only deceived my brother, but during my investigation, I found that all those times someone was secretly trying to trip me up—it might have been her behind it.

"Since she decided to play dirty, she can’t blame me for fighting back. From now on, the two of us will deal with her together!"

But to Suzy’s surprise, Helena actually refused.

"I never wanted to go against her," Helena said flatly.

"I just want her to leave me alone. I don’t want anything anymore—I just want to live a quiet life by myself."

The things she once pursued now felt meaningless.

Back then, it hadn’t even been her ambition—it was just others manipulating her into chasing something she never truly desired.

Suzy studied her carefully. "That throne was yours before she took it. Don’t you want to take it back?"

"The throne was never really mine to begin with," Helena replied calmly.

"It belongs to the people of Xandria. As long as she can rule well and keep the country stable, that’s all that matters.

"Besides, her morals might be questionable, but I can’t deny that she’s capable. Since she’s doing a good job, she can keep doing it."

She looked utterly indifferent, as if she had completely let go of everything.

Suzy raised an eyebrow. "But aren’t you afraid she’ll keep coming after you? Just because you don’t see her as a threat doesn’t mean she feels the same way about you.

"She might still see your existence as a danger to her position."

Helena met her gaze. "Then I’ll leave that to you. Go talk to her. Tell her I won’t fight for the throne. I just want her to stop worrying about me."

Suzy let out a sharp laugh. "You think she’ll believe me? I’ve already fallen out with her. Why would she listen to anything I say?"

"Even if we hadn’t fought, I doubt she’d listen. Because to her, as long as you’re still alive, you’ll always be a threat."

"Exactly. As long as I’m alive, she’ll never truly feel at ease. But I really don’t want to be her enemy," Helena sighed, deep in thought.
