For the next few days, Suzy and Dylan continued staying at Helena’s place.
Even when Simon came looking for her, she refused to go back.
And she made sure to put on a show.
Right in front of Helena, she got into a heated argument with Simon.
"Why should I go back with you?" she snapped.
"Simon, as your sister, I’m warning you—don’t let love blind you.
"You need to really look into the woman you’re sharing a bed with every night.
"Before it’s too late and you lose everything."
She turned and pointed at Helena, who was busy enjoying her meal.
"Just look at her—she’s a living example! She used to trust Evangeline just like you do. And look where that got her!"
Suzy let out a sharp laugh.
"You have no idea what Evangeline has been doing behind your back, do you?
"Not only is she scheming against me, but she’s also trying to set Helena up as a scapegoat!"
She was just getting into it when Simon cut her off.
"So, what you’re saying is—you trust her over your own sister-in-law?"
"That’s exactly what I’m saying!" Suzy’s voice was full of anger.
"Why the hell would I believe Evangeline, when she’s done nothing but lie from the very beginning?
"She’s been spinning lies while secretly working against me all this time! If she weren’t your wife, I would have killed her already.
"But don’t think I’ll let this slide.
"She owes me, and I will make her pay for every single thing she’s done!"
Simon’s jaw tightened. "You keep saying she owes you—then tell me, what exactly does she owe you? I’ll settle the debt for her."
Suzy let out a cold, mocking laugh.
"You? Pay for her sins? You really think you can?"
