Chapter 123
Dylan's POV
Traveling light had its peak as I didn't have to worry about extra loads. The moment we left the Pack, I felt a wave of relief wash through me. The first thing I did was raise my wall so that no one would be able to mindlink me.
As I ran, I thought of everything, my mom's power, her warning again. What exactly does she mean when she spoke about harm and protecting Kaia or what she meant by things would only get worse if I was there? Just exactly what was going on?
After taking breaks between my journey, I finally got to the Moonstone Pack. The warriors on patrol knew who I was now and let me in. The rest of the trip to Alpha Kieran's office didn't take long.
"I don't care if you have to visit their goddess forsaken Pack and bring him here, do it. But I want him here by–” Kieran's loud voice came as I swung the door open. They both turned to look at me.
“Alpha."
“I was just going to have Ryder come drag your ass from your Pack." He said, and although his voice was light, I had no doubt he was beyond serious. “But considering that you're here on your own, you must have a reason." Alpha Kieran continued, and I nodded.
Filling them in on what happened with Aiden once the meeting ended and Kieran let out a low growl when I mentioned how Aiden wanted me to be a spy for him.
“I should've just killed him," he said.
Maybe not killing him, but I wished Alpha Kieran had beaten him to the point where all the screws in his head start acting right and he behaves the way an Alpha was supposed to. He rejected Kaia, he should stick with the decision.
“What were you going to talk about…at the meeting? It seemed pretty serious.”
I sat upright, "before that, there's something else you should know.” I started, and both Alpha Kieran and Ryder straightened up in their seats. That was very much needed…it wasn't anything they could guess, so they needed to be ready.
“My mom is a healer." I said, “but she's not a white wolf." I added as the two of them looked at me like I had lost my mind.
“This isn't the time for your comic relief." Ryder told me.
I just rolled my eyes, “does it look like I want to meet the moon goddess today?" I deadpanned, because I was sure that's where I would be going if I chose this time to share a joke.
"How's that possible?” He asked.
I shrugged, and showed them my wrist that had been severely wounded by the wolfsbane and how I was just as confused as they were. I spent most of my life believing my mom was an ordinary wolf.
“And she also spoke about harm coming to Luna Kaia…and her pups.”
“What does she mean?" Ryder asked.
I shook my head, "I'm not sure, she didn't explain any further and I left in a hurry.”
"It's settled then, we'll be paying your pack a visit–” the door opened before he could conclude what he was saying and Caleb entered. A surprised look appeared on his face when his eyes landed on me but he didn't comment as he placed a laptop on the center table in front of Alpha Kieran.
