Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia) novel Chapter 51

Chapter 51

Kaia's POV

My head was much better when I woke up, the event that led to me having a panic attack was fresh in my memory. Although I wasn't sure how I got here.

“You made us worried, Luna. Don't do that again?" Allie asked, her voice trembling and her face was swollen like she'd been crying and I felt a pang of guilt.

“I'm sorry."

“There's nothing to be sorry about, you could've said something…I mean…” Dani started, taking a deep breath. "We're glad you're okay.” She finished.

Allie nodded, and both of them engulfed me in a hug, murmuring comforting words to my hearing. I offered them a small smile and told them it wasn't their fault…it really wasn't their fault.

Just when I thought the moon goddess was being generous and giving me the happy ending I so much deserve, she strikes again. Just that this time, I wasn't the only victim.

“Did you guys bring me here?" I asked after a while.

They shook their heads, “Kieran did. He left a few minutes before you woke up." Dani replied.

“We were out for a long time." Lylah said.

“Where's he now?"

“He's trying to sort things here and there, but he should be here soon.” Allie said, giving a vague answer. My brows furrowed, "What's going on?”

They exchanged a nervous glance, their eyes avoided meeting mine. “Nothing." Dani replied, her tone coming out a bit higher than she'd sound normally.

Allie nodded in agreement, her smile coming out fake. “I'll tell him you're awake." She said instead, running out of the room.

Dani moves around in her seat, suddenly finding the things in the room fascinating. Making it obvious she knew something I didn't and I hated being in the dark especially about something that concerns me.

When she didn't say anything for another five minutes, I laid down, already feeling exhausted.

“Did he make Laura the Luna?" I thought, my heart clenched at the thought of that happening. "or was he really stripped of his position as Alpha?”

These questions swam around in my head with no one providing answers. Lylah too hasn't said anything to me since I woke up. I wondered what was going through her head.

I fell asleep thinking and by the time I opened my eyes, Kieran was sitting at the side of my bed. He looked like he hadn't had a wink of sleep in weeks. Even his smile was different.

“Maybe I was cursed. Maybe I didn't deserve a happy ending."

"Hi…” he started, "do you feel better now?” He asked. Concern evident in his eyes.

"Yes, thank you.”

"I've spoken to the doctor, he thinks you're ready to leave, but I want you to rest well.” He told me and I nodded. A slight frown appeared on his face.

"Dani and Allie would come back to watch you for a while.”

"Is everything okay? How did your meeting go…?”
