Claimed By The Lycan King (Kaia) novel Chapter 8

Kaia's POV

Dani's energy was unmatched. We ran into a few people…literally and when they complained, she glared at them like it was their fault.

As we stepped into the Mall's spacious interior, it felt like we were in a different dimension. People moving around with different agendas. Everyone was talking about on the top of their voice making everywhere a bit noisy but at the same time, peaceful.

“We're going to start with dresses and I know just the perfect store." Dani said.

I heard Kieran’s voice before I could respond, “hey." He called softly. "Get as many things as you want, okay?” He continued when I turned back. I managed to nod before Dani pulled me away.

“With a body like yours, I'm going to enjoy dressing you up.”

"I don't…I don't think so."

All I heard about my body was how fat I was and how men were going to find me unattractive. And now, in less than a day of knowing me, she'd complimented me more than anyone close to me.

“This is going to be perfect, try it." Dani said, putting an end to my thoughts. “Try this one too." She said, adding another set of dresses to the one I was holding.

She showed me the dressing room before going back to check out more dresses.

I wriggled into the first dress, the silky fabric sliding smoothly over my skin. As I zipped up the back, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and couldn't help but smile. The dress was a vibrant red, and it made my eyes sparkle. I struck a pose, admiring the way the dress hugged my curves. Next, I tried on the flowy white sundress, feeling the delicate straps dig gently into my shoulders. It wasn't tight, but it was perfect.

I tried the same for the other clothes, shorts and even shirts.

“Do they fit?" Dani asked, peeping through the curtains.

“They did. They're all really nice." I admitted, a frown appearing on my face before I could stop it. I tried to mask it but she already did.

“What's wrong, Luna? You don't like them?" She asked.

I shook my head quickly. “It's not that. They're all nice, I don't think I can choose just one."

She laughed like I said something funny, making me confused.

“Who said anything about choosing? If you want the whole mall, the Alpha would find a way to transport them to the pack house." She said.

"But they're really expensive.”

She laughed again, "Everything here belongs to him and this isn't the only one he owns.” She explained and my jaw dropped.

"But he's really…"

“Young right? He became an Alpha quite early and has been working hard to make sure the pack doesn't lack anything." She said, “He also didn't stop talking about his mate. We all thought that whoever his mate was, she was lucky. Now I know he's the lucky one."

I smiled, "she'll change her mind once she gets to know me.”

"You really cannot accept the fact that you're worth it, can you?” My wolf asked, her usual teasing was gone and a serious tone in its stead.

"You were not there when Aiden rejected us. I'm sure if we were, he wouldn't have done that.” I argued.

“Did he really reject us? Because if he did, I missed it."

“What are you talking about?" I asked, but she was gone, leaving me to ponder about what she meant.

Aiden didn't just reject us, he humiliated us and chose someone else over us again and again. But she wasn't there when all of them happened.

“You were gone for a while, was that your wolf?"

I nodded, “we don't agree on some things."

“Same, Tara has a mind of her own." She replied.

“Tara?" I repeated.

“My wolf. What's your wolf's name?" She asked, and I looked at her in confusion. “She doesn't have a name." I replied and she frowned.

“Of course she does, that's the first thing she'll tell you when you shift. Or you can ask her." She added quickly when she saw the look on my face.
