Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1249

At five in the morning, Maja was still quietly sitting on the couch.

She couldn't feel the passage of time, only the chill.

The chill was not from the environment, but from her heart, gradually creeping into her limbs, making her feel as if she was about to freeze.

Her ears were also throbbing with pain, and in the silence of the early morning, she finally heard a voice coming from the tiny earpiece.

"Regretting it yet?"

Those words made her body tense up.

Almost instinctively, she looked around, but she quickly realized.

"What do you want? I agreed. I agreed to everything."

Hours had passed, and she knew the man was waiting for her to break, to compromise.

Her head ached. Her heart had been racing all night, and at some point, she even felt like she was going to die.

"Maja, I told you my patience is limited. No more games like last night or there won't be a next time."

Maja remained silent, her eyes welling up with tears.

She thought the man would share his plans next, but he simply left her with that sentence and disappeared.

She called out a few times, but there was no response.

Until she heard noise from the stairs, it was Patric waking up.

He had the maid help her to the bathroom to freshen up and then had breakfast prepared for her.

She still had two hours until her meeting with Ian.

Patric was in no rush, seemingly enjoying watching Maja being led over.

Her eyes were indeed blind now. Those once beautiful eyes, full of life, were now empty.

It was a shame.

But it was for the best. It would prevent her from thinking about escaping.

Patric watched as she slowly ate the food in her bowl, a bit surprised. He had thought she would continue to make a fuss this morning, but she was particularly well-behaved at the moment.

After finishing her meal, Maja was forced to change her clothes.

Patric noticed the red mark on her earlobe. She didn't used to wear earrings. Was it a new piercing?

He didn't ask, just glanced at the time and escorted her to the car.

Maja sat in the backseat, feeling the car slowly starting, her heart pounding.
