Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1303

Zoey crouched in the back seat of her car, heart thumping like a drum in a rock concert. With the space cramped, there was nowhere to hide.

In a swift motion, she yanked the curtains closed on both windows, making sure no prying eyes could peer inside.

As long as she wasn't caught red-handed, she thought she'd be fine.

But her hasty actions might as well have been a neon sign flashing "Occupied" to the small mob outside.

"Look! I told you, that shameless hussy is definitely in there!"

"Drag her out! I want to see which little vixen has the nerve to mess around!"

"Get out here! Don't make me come in there after you! If you've got the guts to do it, then face the music!"

Zoey sat silently, hoping against hope that the group would disperse soon. But the ringleader, a woman with the persistence of a bulldog, wasn't about to let it go and called for her bodyguard.

"Get my brother's chauffeur, bring me the keys. I want to see the face of this home-wrecker."

Zoey's pupils shrank with fear. Could it be that man's sister? She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed his number, but he didn't answer. He rarely did, especially after warning her not to contact him out of the blue.

But this was an emergency.

After several attempts and hang-ups, he finally answered, his voice darker than a storm cloud.

"What do you want?"

"Your sister's trying to break into the car. What should I do?"

She expected him to call off his sister, but he just scoffed.

"Scared of being found out? You do know tonight is our family's gala, right?"

Zoey hadn't known. How could she? She was out of the loop on his life's details.

She fell silent as the girls outside continued to plot her humiliation, anticipating the moment they could drag her out and slap her senseless.

With a heavy heart, she begged, "Can you please call her off? I'm begging you."
