Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1306

Maja instinctively wanted to push him away, but the thought of it being Ian made her fingertips hesitate.

Ian's hands were planted firmly on either side of her, his gaze full of interest as he studied her face.

Trapped in this intimate space, Maja felt utterly out of her element.

When he said he wanted to look, he meant thoroughly, painstakingly, missing not a single inch.

Maja tensed uncomfortably, but his lips were already descending upon her.

From top to bottom, he soothed every inch with deliberate care.

Every cell in her body trembled, clamoring, the sensation making her tilt her head back.

"Stop, please."

She tried to push him away, but he was already down on one knee.

Maja ended up regretting it, especially after being carried to the dining table for a bout, then to the couch. She felt utterly dizzy.

It wasn't until she realized he was about to pull out at the last moment that her spirits suddenly revived.

"Ian, maybe we should try for a baby."

No sooner had the words left her mouth than she felt him freeze.

He quickly withdrew, beads of sweat from his forehead dripping onto her chest.

"No."

His answer was firm, his movements methodical as he dressed her.

"Why not?"

"It's not the right time. We'll talk about it later."

Ian couldn't risk it, not while the mystery surrounding Mr. K and that elusive research facility remained unsolved.

He had taken precautions each time, fearful that a single slip might put her through an ordeal.

"Why isn't it the right time?"

As she spoke, Maja suddenly remembered Lillian.

Once her eyes were healed, she needed to find Lillian, the woman who loved her more than anyone else in the world.

Indeed, it wasn't the time to have a child.

She felt a twinge of regret.

Ian held her close, patting her back gently.

"There will be other chances."

Maja managed a smile. "Okay."

"I'll go clean up the mess in the kitchen. I don't want Coco and Rocky stepping on it."
