Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1379

Maja gazed at the ring on her finger, a glint of silver in the dim light.

"Sometimes, I feel like I'm not normal. Can't quite put my finger on it, but I feel this panic, like there's so much I want to say but can't quite catch. I remember everything we've been through, but my inner world feels like still water, no ripples."

Her fingers twitched slightly as she spoke, "It's only when I see this ring that something feels different. Can't say what exactly."

Ian took a deep breath and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"Maja."

After a moment, she asked, "You're still taking me to see Dr. Herrington tomorrow, right?"

What a mood killer.

"Yeah, I am. So get some sleep now."

Only then did Maja breathe a sigh of relief and drift off to a peaceful sleep.

Ian watched her face, kissing it over and over, never feeling it was enough.

After a while, he smiled to himself.

In this moment, he was vividly aware that Maja truly loved him.

Her love was in no way less than his.

It's just that neither of them were good at expressing it.

What came next, he was about to do something he'd regret, something for which he had no other choice.

In the morning, Maja woke up and immediately started trying on outfits in front of the mirror.

Ian just sat on the edge of the bed watching her fuss.

After three outfits, none satisfied her. She felt she needed to look better for Dr. Herrington.

Ian didn't rush her, but when she went to change again, he asked softly, "You care that much about him?"

Maja frowned, "I can't explain it, but I feel like he's a good person, someone I can trust, someone who gives me a sense of safety."

Ian leaned on the bedpost, beckoning her with a curled finger, "Come here."

With a new outfit in hand, she approached the bed, "What is it?"

"Maja, listen. I'm seething with jealousy, but I know it's not your fault so I don't want to make this hard on you."

She nodded seriously, "Can I keep trying on clothes then?"

Ian took a deep breath and pinned her down on the bed.

"We've got an appointment with him at noon, still four hours to go. Let's do something else first."

Maja came out from under him once, breathless, her neck marked with his passion.

When she looked at him with those damp eyes, he couldn't resist, and they went for another round in front of the mirror.

"No need to change outfits anymore, you look stunning. If you keep changing, you won’t see Dr. Herrington today."

She immediately begged for mercy, "I'll wear this one, I won’t change again."
