Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 1389

Fitch turned his eyes to Tyler, "Who the heck are you?"

Tyler had heard about Fitch's head problem, so he cut to the chase.

"Come with me. Your absence from Greenfield leads the Haskins family to chomp at the bit to divide the estate. They need you to take charge. For now, let's get you to the hospital for a check-up."

After all, this place lacked a professional medical team.

Fitch's eyes instinctively sought out Zoey, who managed a bitter smile.

"This is also your good buddy. He's come all the way here for you, so it seems safe enough for me to step out. Go with him, I’ll keep you company."

Hearing she would accompany him made Fitch's mood somewhat brightened.

The trio got into the car, with Tyler behind the wheel.

He'd in fact been detained for several days because of his association with Ian. The higher-ups suspected he was in collusion with Ian, and they had him under close watch. It was just recently that he'd cleared his name.

When he heard Fitch was still alive, he almost cried tears of joy.

At the hospital, Tyler hurriedly ushered Fitch in for a full check-up.

He hadn't kept Fitch's survival a secret from the Haskins family, so before the check-up was even complete, they were already storming in, almost tumbling over each other in their haste.

There were about a dozen of them, all waiting in the hallway.

Zoey had been by Fitch's side, but as soon as the Haskins arrived, she was squeezed into a corner.

The doctor came out at this moment.

"He's going to be fine, should be back on his feet by today."

Fitch had always had a remarkable ability to heal. His wounds were mostly scabbed over already.

The expressions on the faces of the Haskins family members were subtle. Fitch's return had made those who were previously squabbling over shares look like complete fools.

Mia Haskins was the first to break down in tears.
