She had just stepped out of the hotel, ready to get in her car, when a call from Samuel came through 

“Penny, I texted you the contacts already This renovation company is pretty solid But they’re rivals with Silver Cames. If you decide to work with them, you might seriously piss off Silver Carnes.” “I’ve permanently cut off all ties with Mr Carnes.” 

If someone else breaks the moral code first, she doesn’t need to stick to principles 

Besides, Silver Cames was still trying to stop others from working with her 

Samuel laughed on the other end of the line. He wanted to ask about her situation with lan but didn’t bring it up in the end. 

Maja hung up and looked at the message on her phone. 

Sure enough, this company was a competitor of Silver Cames. The first time she chose to work with Silver Carnes, they had even tried to snatch her project. 

Maja made a call and discussed it with them. To her surprise, they loved her design, especially the one for lan’s house. Even if the main credit goes to the designer, as long as it’s well–promoted, the reputation of the renovation team will also rise. 

She had a brief chat with them, then sent over the blueprints and plans. The whole conversation was pleasant. 

lan’s house project cant be delayed any longer. 

With that problem solved, Maja drove towards Rosewood Manor. 

But right before she reached the intersection, a car suddenly burst out from the front, forcing her to stop. 

This wasnt her first rodeo; she frowned, ready to get out of the car when the driver from the other car got out. 

He was a seemingly harmless middle–aged man. 

“I’m sorry, miss 

Just as Maja was about to reply, he suddenly reached out with a handkerchief with a pungent smell and covered her nose. Caught off guard, Maja inhaled some gas which made her weak. 

Just before she blacked out, she realized that this must be someone sent by Silver Cames. 

Because if she worked with Silver Cames‘ rival, it could put Silver Carnes in an awkward position. 

Maja made a call with her last bit of strength as she was about to pass out. 

Due to the urgency of the situation, she wasn’t sure who she was calling. 

The call went through, and there was no voice on the other end, but Maja could hear a sound. 

The car door was opened, and Maja was dragged out. Her legs were useless, and the man roughly dragged her into another car. 

“You bitch! Doing business with Mr. Carnes was giving you dignity, but you play this card!” 

Her phone fell on the ground, with the call still connected, the screen was visible. 

The man picked up the phone while cursing and slapped Maja hard. 

“Who did you call? No one can save you tonight! You’d better behave yourself!”
