Tyler glanced at his watch and asked Zoey, “How much time do you need?”
“Just ten minutes.”
The two headed to a quiet private room. Zoey sat up straight, her posture at odds with the bruise on her face.
There was something about her that made Tyler intuitively feel she wasn't as fragile as she appeared.
Maybe it was only in the face of Fitch that her backbone seemed to melt away. But that wasn't for him to ponder. Love was a battlefield, and the first to surrender handed the other the weapons to wound.
“Tyler, I need to know about the Miller family. Carol is a friend of Ms. Pennyfeather, and I'm a bit worried. I reached out to her today, but she kept saying everything was fine. Yet, the media has been buzzing all day. Has her father really been locked up?”
While asking the question, Zoey had a hunch that the media reports were true - that Carol's father was indeed behind bars. What was crucial now, however, was understanding what role Felix played in this.
If the president of the Miller Group was sent to the slammer by Felix himself, and he still insisted on marrying Carol now, what was his endgame?
Was Carol being coerced? It was hard to picture a high-society girl like Carol from the Miller Group being forced into marriage.
Since Carol was tight-lipped about the whole affair, Zoey had no choice but to seek the truth herself.
Tyler raised an eyebrow, surprised by Zoey's line of inquiry, “The Miller family, huh? Yeah, they've collapsed this time. But who's to blame? Carol was love-blind, let the wolf in the door, and gave Felix the chance.”
Zoey frowned, “Are you saying Felix had ulterior motives from the start? That he deliberately got close to Carol?”

Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson.
