The wealthy widow did indeed do just that, reaching out and yanking the bow tie from Felix’s neck.
A chorus of “Wow” erupted from the group of women, their eyes shimmering with mockery.
Human nature is a curious beast; it seems that whether you’re a man or a woman, once you amass a fortune, you're prone to corruption.
If you don't turn bad, it’s probably because the temptations haven’t been juicy enough.
Sitting in the farthest corner, Carol had declared at the outset her wish for some peace, so no one bothered her with questions.
When she saw Felix's bow tie being pulled off, a hint of amusement sparkled in her eyes.
As distasteful as the scene was, she had to admit Felix was rather handsome.
Especially from her vantage point, where she could catch a glimpse of the muscle definition just below his chest.
The rich widow grabbed Felix by the hair, her tone dripping with feigned sweetness.
"I heard that when you pop the cork on this bottle, you can pocket a neat $200 commission. Felix, you've been quite dismissive when I've come calling lately."
Felix, blessed with the patience of a saint, still managed a smile despite the circumstances.
"Odelia, please, let's not do this."
Such words, when spoken by a man of his looks, were devastatingly charming.
Odelia patted his cheek, "Alright, I won’t hassle you. Tell you what, down three drinks, and I’ll let you go."
Others at the party chimed in.
"Odelia, that's just mean. We finally get to see a pretty face and you never shared the secret."
"I bet Odelia just got her payout from her ex-husband and now she's out to snag herself some pretty boys."
"I won't lie, he does have that youthful glow, like a college boy. A hundred times better than the old gloomy husbands we have at home."
Each comment was more humiliating than the last, but Felix maintained his professional smile.
A bottle of liquor could fetch $10,000 and if a server opened it, they’d get a commission.
Odelia had been frequenting the place for half a month and had set her sights on Felix from the start. She wanted to "keep" him, but he had refused.
Seeing him again today only reignited her resentment.
Odelia poured a clear spirit from a nearby white bottle, her eyes gleamed with anticipation.

Is author playing with our emotions?...
Why are there no updates yet, Author. We've all been waitibg for quite a while now. Please, update soon, Author. Thanks....
Author, my thoughts on the book. When are You going to write on Cornelia and Omar Casson's romance? You made no mention, describing in detail how Maja and Uan's white wedding ceremony went. Also, you didn't write on Carol's baby delivery. What about Tyler's romance. Is there closure on Phelps Herrington being truly certified dead, so also his twin brother? Dylan's research institute "little girl", what became of her and Dylan's romance? Beck's blind dates, what were the results, is he married now, so also Dylan to his "little girl"? Why hasn't Ian's father- Steven come forward to meet Maja's parents as the in-laws meeting each other especially with his supposed past with Lillian; Maja's mother. I hope I won't remain curious for too long on the aforementioned issues, Author. Thanks for doing a good job on Zoey and Fitch's romance, though. Kudos....
