Ian pondered for a moment, and thought she was right. He dipped his head and kissed her cheek, then wrapped his arms around her as they joyfully made their way home.

When it was time to sleep, he headed for the bathroom to take a shower. Upon coming out, he found Maja standing by the window on the phone.

The underfloor heating was on and she was dressed lightly, her figure grown more voluptuous with her pregnancy.

"It's better to think about it sooner, don't you think? Do you want the baby to take your last name or mine? If it's yours, does that mean the baby will be a Sanders? Sanders is a pretty good-sounding name."

After speaking, he heard the soft breathing of Maja beside him—she had fallen asleep.
