Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 258

Chapter 258

Maja rubbed her temples, saying, “I’m heading to Silverstone Enterprises right now, let’s hope this kind of screw-up doesnt happen again.”

The worker immediately assured her that this wouldn’t happen again.

Without another word, Maja made her way to Silverstone Enterprises.

The bosses at Silverstone Enterprises had already gotten the message from the worker, and the CEO himself was a bit on edge.

After all, Maja was the interior designer handpicked by lan, Silverstone Enterprises had only won the Crystalbrook Valley construction project because of her. If Maja was unhappy, wouldn’t the Crystalbrook Valley project be in jeopardy?

The CEO of Silverstone Enterprises was sweating bullets and couldn’t help but grumble to the person next to him.

“I have no idea what the hell these workers are doing, how could they make such a mistake? If Mr. Raymond finds out, our construction team be labeled unprofessional,”

“That worker has been with us for a long time; he’s had some family issues recently. We’ve given him a severance package, and he’s left the company; he feels real about it.”

At this point, laying the blame was useless. The key was to prevent Maja from making a big deal out of this

The CEO of Silverstone Enterprises was discussing this issue with another top executive, and a lower-level manager who was serving them coffee overheard their conversation, his eyes shining.

This manager was Nathan’s boss, a master at sucking up and looking down on those without a fancy degree. He often gave Nathan a hard time because of his lack of education.

This manager, Gerber, left and returned to his office, where he began consulting his staff to see if anyone knew Maja. He might get promoted if he could help the company resolve this issue.

He’d been stuck in this position for three years, constantly sucking up and doing menial tasks. It seemed he was still lacking something “Go-find out who’s tight with Penny and get them to beg her for a favor. I’ll report back to the CEO and make it quick; she’s on her way to Silverstone Enterprises.”

Nathan was sorting out documents for Gerber, a task that should have been Gerber’s. But Gerber loved giving him a hard time. Nathan was always cursing Gerber in his head, but when he heard Penny’s name, his eyes lit up.

Was it the Penny he knew?

He was surprised and a bit excited. He hadn’t expected Penny to be so influential, causing the CEO of Silverstone Enterprises to freak out Too bad he was just pretending to be her husband, not her real husband Otherwise, he could get promoted

If only he had Felix’s face.

Nathan cleared his throat. Everyone in the department recently knew about his $50,000 Mercedes and several female colleagues were showing interest, Nathan seized the opportunity and hooked up with one of them, the one who had initiated a conversation with him. They’d been dropping hints to each other.

Now with the extra $3,000 that Maja had given him and a Mercedes, he could show off a bit in front of his coworkers.

Just now, hearing his boss mention Penny, he realized this was an opportunity.

“I know Penny; I can talk to her about it.”

Gerber looked at him with disdain.

“You? Do you even know what Penny does? She’s lan’s chief designer. Do you know who lan is? He’s the CEO of the Raymond Corporation, a big name on Wall Street at such a young age. Do you think you can get in contact with a designer he’s taken a liking to?”

Nathan was unhappy. This jerk was always using his education to belittle people. One day, he would take his place. But he still put on a smile.

“I really do know her, we’re good friends; I’ll give her a call ”

Gerber looked at him in disbelief, thinking he was just blowing smoke.

Nathan sneered inwardly. “Wait until I finish this call with Penny; you’ll see how awesome I am.

And so, he really did call Maja

Maja had saved his number before, and they had agreed that they would only contact each other if she called him.

So when she saw his name flashing on her phone, she frowned.
