Rita’s face instantly turned as white as a sheet, as if she’d been slapped in the face. 

“Mr. Raymond…” 

But lan didn’t even glance at her, and his gaze moved to the others. 

“You all should learn from this.” 

It was a public humiliation for Rita. 

“Mr. Raymond, I’m Ryan’s girlfriend, and we’ve been quite close lately, so…” 

lan’s gaze turned sharp instantly, making Rita stiffen and seethe with resentment towards Maja. 

Without saying another word, lan promptly left. 

Jeff stayed behind to deliver a warning to the receptionists. 

“Spreading rumors can get you in legal trouble.” 

The receptionists nodded in fear. 

Then, someone carefully asked, “Mr. Raymond is leaving work se early today… 

It wasn’t even noon yet, not something a workaholic like him would usually do. 

By then, lan was already in his car. 

Jeff took the driver’s seat, glanced at lan’s face in the rear–view mirror, and stayed silent. The whole journey was silent, with the car finally stopping lat Raymond Mansion. Selena Casson was currently residing there and breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing him. 

“I thought you’d forgotten. I’m ready. Let’s go.” 

lan glanced at the white chrysanthemums in her hand. 

The sadness was evident on Selena’s face. Both of them seemed very solemn. 

After getting back in the car, they stopped at a cemetery on the outskirts. 

Jeff waited at the bottom of the hill, not going up. 

lan and Selena walked up, finally stopping in front of a tombstone at the top. 

Selena placed the flowers in front of the tombstone, sighing deeply. 

lan’s face was icy as he looked at the black and white photo on the tombstone, somewhat resembling himself. 

“lan, I was wrong back then. If I had another chance… 

lan said, “He’s already gone beyond revival, and I just hope you won’t use the same tricks on me that you used on my brother.” 

Selena’s face turned awkward, her fingers trembling at her side. 

“Why would I have to go through all this trouble if you guys behaved?” 

lan’s lips tightened into a cold smirk, placing his flowers in front of the tombstone while saying, “I have things to do this afternoon; I’ll go ahead. I doubt he’d want you to disturb him.” 

Selena was taken aback, unable to believe the cold words he’d just uttered. And they were standing in front of his tombstone. 

But all lan did was nod at her and the tombstone before leaving. 

Selena stood there, feeling chilly. 

Eventually, she asked him, “When are you divorcing Maja? She’s not worthy of you, and I heard the Pennyfeather family is on the brink of bankruptcy.” 

lan frowned and quickened his pace. 

He got into the car Jeff was driving at the bottom of the hill, leaving another car behind for Selena. 

Jeff knew that Mr. Raymond would be in a foul mood around this time of the year. 

lan went to meet Fitch Haskins. 

Fitch was sitting in a private booth, pushing a glass of wine towards him. 

“I tried to find out about your brother’s girlfriend but didn’t succeed. Seems your brother did a good job of protecting her. Maybe he didn’t use his real name when they were together.” 

lan wasn’t interested in his brother’s girlfriend at all, frowning.
