If Neil had a favourite person, it would definitely be Lillian. 

She was the smartest, strongest woman he’d ever met. 

So, when Lillian passed away, he was steeped in sorrow, unable to face reality, and feeling increasingly lonely.

The lawyer rushed over in the middle of the night. 

Meanwhile, Tricia, outside the door, overheard the commotion and asked resentfully. 

“Haven’t you been in touch with Holden several times? As long as you agree. I can marry lan, I really like him. Maja is a nobody. How can she ever be worthy of someone so noble.” 

Neil looked disappointed and said, “Let me think about it.” 

Tricia excitedly returned to her room without any concern for his condition. 

Half an hour later, the lawyer arrived. 

Neil, furious at Tricia’s words, wiped the blood from his mouth before speaking. 

“Draw up my will. All my shares go to my daughter, Maja.” 

Neil blinked, tears rolling down his cheeks, realizing the one who cared about him most was Maja. 

So what if she wasn’t his biological daughter? Even though he felt a tinge of resentment, he had raised her all these years. 

He rubbed his temples, realizing it was Maja’s 24th birthday, and he hadn’t even prepared a cake. He felt terrible. 

Coughing, his palms were stained with blood. 

“No one from the Pennyfeather family can take the shares from her for any reason. As for Tricia, give her three million dollars cash and make her leave Greenfield in two days, or she won’t get the three million either.” 

A cold–hearted biological daughter and an adopted daughter who truly cared about him. 

He knew whom to choose.

“Tell Maja she must find that child. If she does, give the child some money so she can live worry–free. The Pennyfeather family shares still belong to Maja.”
