Chapter 429
When lan climbed back into bed, Maja was in that half–asleep, half–awake zone.
His arm was still wrapped around her waist.
He turned towards her, taking a good look at her face.
She had a nice nose and great skin, and though her lashes weren’t long, they were thick. Even with her short hair, she still looked cute while sleeping.
He couldn’t resist, hugging her tight and planting a little kiss on her like he was petting a lazy cat.
His action stirred Maja awake. She looked at him, and suddenly a smile spread across her face.
“It must be fake,” she said.
She was talking about the letter she had seen that day. After all, he was right beside her.
Maja was dreaming, and after saying that, she drifted back to sleep.
But her smile got to lan; it felt like a punch to his heart, a mix of sweet and sour.
“What’s fake?” he asked.
Maja, half–asleep, opened her eyes with a soft voice.
“You,” she said.
The way she said it lingered, it felt like it seeped into lan’s bones.
He started to wonder if maybe she did have feelings for him.
He thought back to Tyler’s analysis, and to be fair, many of her actions did not add up.
She was married, yet she would apply medicine for him and blush when he was on top of her.
She even sneakily drew him and often stared at him in a daze.
If it wasn’t that she liked him, then what? Could there be other reasons why she won’t admit it?
This was the first time lan deeply pondered the dynamics between men and women.
He never felt this way about Carlene. He just thought it was right to be nice to her.
lan had always been smart; in everything he did, he excelled.
His older brother, Eric Raymond, was the same. But lan was more introverted and had diverse interests–one moment wanting to study finance, then painting, then joining the military.
Eric was more focused, always wanting to get into a research institute, and started working in renowned laboratories when he was 14.
People would say the Raymond family produced two geniuses.
But most people favored Eric, being the eldest son and always treating others kindly, unlike lan’s cold demeanor.
Everyone had their pride, especially a highly praised genius like lan.
lan wanted to prove he was better than Eric.
He knew Eric, and even though he was popular with the ladies, he preferred research.
Except when it came to Carlene, Eric showed extra care.
lan guessed that Eric might like Carlene.
So when Carlene confessed to lan, asking if he would be with her, lan agreed.
And so, Carlene became his girlfriend.
Looking back, that decision was quite immature.
It’s just that lan didn’t want to lose.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
