Samuel was fuming inside. “I’m mad for your sake!” 

Carlene was almost clinging to lan! 

Carlene heard what Samuel said and couldn’t help sneering, “Shameless! Penny’s already married, yet she still flirts with Samuel? And Samuel, how dare he go to her house when her husband’s not around?” 

lan instantly felt uneasy. 

“lan, take me home.” 

“I’ll have Jeff drive you.” 

“But I’m injured.” 

She had been slapped twice by a robber and had twisted her ankle, but the swelling was starting to go down. 

“I need to go back to the office for a meeting.” 

Hearing that he needed to go back to the office, Carlene no longer insisted.

She thought it, was Samuel. Had he really come?

The ring was a birthday gift for Maja, and she put it on tonight. Not for any particular reason; she just felt like wearing it.

“Stop looking; let’s stay here.” 

He pushed her against the door and kissed her. 

His fingers touched her ring, took it off, and casually tossed it away. 

“Don’t wear this in front of me.” 

Maja’s pupils suddenly contracted upon hearing the crisp sound of the ring, not knowing where it had rolled off to. 

She pushed lan away and hurriedly went to look for the ring.
