Funfly quickly apologized to Maja. 

“Sorry, I didn’t recognize you. Hope you don’t mind. Coffee is on me today.” 

With a smile, she made a welcoming gesture, “Mr. Raymond, shall we chat over there?” 

Originally, Funfly was supposed to meet with lan today to discuss a collaboration. The Raymond Corporation was venturing into the film and television industry, and investing in a script alone wasn’t enough. 

But after Funfly made the invitation, lan didn’t move. Instead, he turned to look at Maja.

Shawn was drenched in the smell of coffee. He shook his head, “Sorry for the scene 

At that moment, Maja deeply felt that celebrities were merely toys in the eyes of the rich. 

Then, Shawn’s phone rang. It was Tyler, announcing that the lead role had been recast 

Previously, Shawn had received a call from Tyler, telling him that he’d been cast as the lead. He thought this was his chance, and now he was naturally worried 

“Tyler, why the sudden recast?”

Seeing him hang up, Maja asked, “What’s wrong?” 

Shawn gave her a bitter smile, “My role’s been recast. It’s okay, I’m used to it 

Ever since Funfly began paying attention to Shawn, almost no director dared to use him 

In fact, he was already semi–blacklisted. If it wasn’t for his partnership with the Miller family, Funfly would have succeeded. 

“Who replaced you?” 

Shawn hesitated for a moment before saying, “Mr. Raymond.” 

Maja frowned 

Why would lan deliberately make things difficult for a minor actor? 

Shawn’s phone rang again. That time, it was his agency. Now that his role had been recast, the agency was surely going to make a fuss. 

Shawn immediately stood up, “Penny, I’m sorry. There must be something up at the agency. I have to go. Can I take you out for coffee some other time?” Maja saw his anxiety and nodded.

Maja was soft–hearted and didn’t want innocent people to be in a bind for her. 

She pursed her lips, and then reached out to take the gift. 

Jeff breathed a sigh of relief, “Mr. Raymond still has some time to talk with Ms. Darcy; are you going to wait for him?” 

“I have things to do.” 

Jeff didn’t push her anymore and stepped aside. 

Maja got back into her car and opened the gift box. 

Inside the box was a beautiful bracelet. Even though she wasn’t into luxury goods, she could tell that bracelet must have been expensive.
