Tyler had his hand on Phelps shoulder, spinning some yarn confidentially 

“lans not showing up tonight 

Phelps was taken aback. He had given everyone a heads up about his leaving the country a month ago, and everyone would normally drop everything to show up 

“Something wrong happened 

Tyler was suddenly all fired up 

“You may not know this since you’ve been abroad, but lan’s been chasing after a married woman, playing her boy toy But she doesn’t want to divorce her husband” Phelps raised an eyebrow giving Tyler the once–over 

Everyone knew Tyler was a scriptwriter, always one to put a spin on things. 

“Tyler you’re talking about lan? Our longtime friend?” 

What Tyler just spilled didn’t mesh with the lan he knew. 

Tyler gestured to Fitch to fill in 

Fitch was sitting in silence at a corner, casting him a look to shut him up 

But Tyler wouldn’t listen 

“He’s been pursuing a designer called Penny, who’s been working on his house. She’s a looker, alright, but it seems lan’s not the only suitor. She has a thing going on with Samuel Brown and recently fell for an actor. And guess what? lan, like a big shot, splashed out 15 million bucks to hire the actor she’s into as the lead in my script. Only big–time players pull off moves like this 

Phelps was staring blankly at his drink: “You’re not pulling my leg, are you?” 

He could hardly believe it. It sounded like a tall tale. 

Tyler gave Fitch a nudge “Say something” 

Fitch downed a drink in silence. “A tad exaggerated, but not entirely false.” 

During Phelps’s time abroad, he saw lan quite often. His face was always a head–turner. 

Back on Wall Street, a woman had drugged lan and locked him in a room, trying to seduce him. 

Everyone was looking for lan that night. When they found him, his arm was bleeding, and the woman was tied up, her clothes intact.

Phelps chuckled and put down his drink 

“I remember Carlene is back in town too”

“Carlene is probably forgotten by lan somewhere. He even tried to force his way into that little designer’s life, but she left the hotel crying. Even I saw it. At that moment, I thought lan might be off his rocker” 

Phelps raised an eyebrow The more he heard, the stranger the story sounded. He pulled out his phone and dialed lan himself.

“If you don’t show up soon. Tyler will turn your story with that married woman into a book.”
