He opened his mouth, trying to argue back, but only ended up staring at her blankly. 

Maja had already helped Beck up, persistently kept on asking if he was okay. 

Beck shook his head, blood oozing from a wound in his hand and slowly dripping onto the floor. 

“I’ll take you to the hospital, Maja immediately declared.. 

Beck had come there alone tonight; he really needed her to drive him. 

He hadn’t seen blood in years, and now, clutching his hand, it seemed to flow even more. 

Maja swiftly untied her scarf, winding it around his hand. 

She didn’t even give a damn about how lan was doing the whole time. 

Onginally, lan’s anger was like a roaring lion, wishing he could tear Beck apart, but now he stood silently, almost as if he wanted to become a statue.

Tyler knew that he wouldn’t speak up, so he quickly chipped in, “You’re heading to the hospital, right? Could you give us a lift? lan needs to get checked out too.” As he finished speaking, he noticed lan looking expectantly at Maja. 

Perhaps it was just his imagination, but he could see hope in lan’s eyes, mixed with anger and a hint of hurt. 

This was probably the most complex lan’s emotions had ever been. Tyler had known him for years and had never seen him look like that. 

But Maja didn’t respond, she just helped Beck towards the door. 

Beck had his pride. He didn’t want to admit that he’d been hit quite hard, his chest and stomach aching. He forced himself to stand straight, enduring the pain. “Wait for us,” Tyler called out as he proposed, saying, “Let’s go together.” 

With that, he went to pull lan along. 

But lan stood there like a petulant child. 

“Why should I go with them? Let them go wherever they want” 

Beck couldn’t help but turn back and sneer at his comment. 

“Don’t flatter yourself, we never planned to bring you along. Penny, you drive me to the hospital, I’m really hurt,” 

Maja nodded, seemingly oblivious to lan’s words. 

lan’s hand slowly clenched, but Tyler grabbed him and quickly followed. 

He knew lan too well. The man was only 24, practically inexperienced in matters of the heart, a blank slate when it came to dealing with someone he liked. He had been so harsh on Beck, only to back off as soon as Penny showed up. 

Tyler believed that, regardless of what the future held for lan and Penny, lan liked her right now. So, he had to follow, or he’d regret it later. 

But lan was especially good at hiding his emotions in public. 

Tyler was surprised at how easily lan came along with him; he didn’t even put up a fight and almost willingly followed. 

It was clear that he was waiting for someone to take him along, he truly wanted to go to the hospital with Penny. 

Tyler just went for it, rushing to Beck’s car. He saw Maja already in the driver’s seat and Beck in the passenger’s seat, so he quickly thickened his skin and asked, 

“Beck, could you give us a lift?” 

Beck just sneered in response. 

Tyler turned to Maja. “Penny, lan’s hurt too.”
