Even though Wilma said she wouldn’t meet, her reply gave off a vibe of shameless self–promotion. 

It was as if she were saying to Maja that her acting skills were top–notch, so Maja shoule better come find her! 

Maja wasn’t sure if she was imagining things, but she could almost feel Wilma’s eager anticipation. 

[Our company just signed a contract with Elvis today. Since you are one of his artists, we have high hopes for you. Can we arrange a time to talk?] 

Wilma squinted her eyes. She was dying to go, mainly because Elvis would be there! 

But she couldn’t let Maja know that, so she replied. 

[Elvis ditched me. You think I’d chase after him? Haha, where there’s Elvis, I won’t be. Don’t distort me while I’m filming. I’m going for the best actress award; goodbye] 

Her reply was full of a childlike tone. 

Maja couldn’t help but laugh as she glanced at the file on Wilma. 

She was only twenty years old, not formally trained, but very talented in acting. Her first role was slightly polished but left a deep impression.

Being placed under Elvis by Simstar Entertainment the moment she joined, it was clear that they had plans to groom her.

Maja squinted her eyes and quickly contacted Elvis, asking him to come to the office.

“Ms. Pennyfeather.” He greeted her, nodding slightly, and said, “Wilma used to be my neighbor. When her parents weren’t home, she used to come over to play. But when she was in her third year of high school, I switched jobs to Simstar Entertainment and moved out.” 

“Are you a celibatarian?” 

“Yes, I made that clear to the media a long time ago.” 

Elvis looked calm and rational, leaning back with his arms crossed in front of him. 

“Wilma is a great actress. She’s sure to become a star in three shows. We have Shawn in the Star Movie group, and his acting is pretty good too. But to win best actor, he needs more polish. We need an actress to lead the pack. The newcomers in the Star Movie group need a chance to shine, and without a top star to attract attention, they’ll all flop in your hands.” 

“Elvis, the reason I signed you is clear. You always bring out the best in your artists. So, I want you to pick a few from the new signees, guide them personally, and groom them into top stars.” 

Elvis replied with a smile, “I’ll do my best.” 

Maja nodded. “I’ll handle Wilma, but I need you to tell me. Does she have feelings for you?” 

A hint of awkwardness crossed Elvis’s face. “Perhaps.” 

“Has she confessed to you?” 

“Yes.” 

“And you didn’t accept?” 

“I’m thirty–two while she’s only twenty, a huge gap. It’s impossible for us. Besides, I decided not to marry since college.” 

Maja nodded, so Wilma’s strong reaction to Elvis was because she was rejected. But with this, signing her would be easier. 

If Wilma really liked Elvis, she would be eager to join. Maja wouldn’t need to persuade her.
