“Leo Elston” 

She gently tapped his shoulder. 

But out of the blue, Leo’s condition suddenly worsened. 

Maja quickly called the nurse, who, after a thorough examination, concluded that it was a reaction caused by intense fear. 

Maja waited there for another three hours, but Leo did not regain consciousness. 

She had no choice but to shell out some cash to hire two hospital caregivers to take care of him. 

Just as she was about to leave the room, Leo suddenly spoke, “The Raymond family… the people from the Raymond family, Maja… they chopped off my leg.” Leo was a sensible guy. After having his leg chopped off, driven by a strong will to survive, he managed to crawl out of the dark alley. The two bodyguards were there, under the light, discussing how Connie had become such a mess. 

Leo was in such pain that he was about to faint, but he clearly heard one comment, ‘Do all the people in the Raymond family have some sort of mental issue?” Selena and Connie did have some mental issues. 

So Leo understood that his leg was chopped off by the Raymond family. 

He didn’t know what kind of family the Raymonds were or anything about their background or power. All he knew was that the people in the Raymond family were terrifying. 

Maja stopped in her tracks and turned back in disbelief. “Leo, are you conscious?” 

Leo had indeed come around and had tears streaming down his face. 

“Maja, the Raymond family is terrifying. They want to kill me; they chopped off my leg with an axe. I’m really scared.” 

A grown man scared to the point of a nervous breakdown, was a hard thing to watch. 

Maja couldn’t hide her inner pain. When she was living with the Elston family, she and this cousin of hers could talk freely. Although Leo did a lot of bad stuff later, he didn’t deserve this. 

“Maja … I’m really scared, my leg…” 

Leo had already had his leg amputated. He would be wheelchair–bound forever, a fact that couldn’t be changed. 

Maja didn’t know how to comfort him, so she just asked, “Are you sure it’s the Raymond family?” 

“Yeah, it’s them…” 

Maja looked at the part below Leo’s knee that was now empty. Who from the Raymond family was it? 

On the other side, at the Raymond family’s villa. 

Ever since the unpleasant dinner at the restaurant, no one had asked about Connie. 

The psychiatrist talked to her every day, but Connie was very resistant. 

She was always thinking about how to break her cousin and Maja up. 

Finally, her bodyguard came to report tonight that the beggar had found Maja. 

This was all her doing, or she would have had Leo killed long ago. 

“Maja saved him?” 

“Yes.” 

Connie’s mouth twitched into a smirk, and then she rubbed her swollen eyes. 

She had been crying a lot lately, so her eyes were always swollen, but now she finally had something to do. 

She immediately rushed to Greenfield Gardens to find lan. 

lan had just returned to Greenfield Gardens not long ago. After seeing her, he didn’t shoo her away but asked, “What’s up?” 

“Cousin, I… I’ve messed up.”

“I was feeling down and went for a drink. When I came out of the bar, a homeless guy made some inappropriate moves on me. I was scared by that and screamed. I told my bodyguards, and they punished him. Now I kinda regret it, and I’m worried that if the police find out, it might cause a bad impact on the Raymond family.” fan–rubbed his forehead, “I’ll explain it to the police.” 

Connie breathed a sigh of relief, “What about that guy’s leg? I’m afraid he’ll sue me.” 

“I’ll send someone to give him some compensation, but there can’t be such an incident next time.”
