Felt a strange kind of softness deep with 

within. 

The misunderstanding between Cornelia and Alma couldn’t be sorted out just yet, so he needed to play the waiting game and bide his time till the perfect moment for those two to patch things up. 

“Omar, send some guys over. I want Maja to have a rough night.” 

“Alright.” He immediately whipped out his phone and made a few calls to his minions, instructing them to give Maja a hard time. 

Then, he was ready to leave the Casson family. 

But just at the front gate, a courier stopped him in his tracks. 

“Mr. Omar, this is a delivery from Ms. Cornelia.” 

Omar’s face changed in an instant, then he flashed a soft smile. After learning his true identity, Cornelia angrily kicked him out. But now she was sending gifts, was she looking for a truce? 

A smirk appeared on his lips, his stern expression vanished in a flash, and he opened the box without a second thought. 

But when he saw what was inside, he instantly pushed it away, his tone icy cold. 

“What’s this?” 

The courier immediately became jittery. 

“Ms. Cornelia said this is her unborn child. She said it was fortunate she found out early.” 

Omar was somewhat in disbelief, unsure of how to react. 

At first there was shock, then it felt like his chest was brutally torn apart, blood and flesh flying everywhere. 

He was so angry that his vision went black, and he almost passed out. 

“You say that again! What is this?” 

The courier, seeing his fury, was scared shitless and immediately pedaled away 

At this point, Omar’s phone rang. It was Cornelia. 

“Omar.” She called out, her tone devoid of any emotion. 

“Cornelia, are you asking for trouble?” 

His tone was ominous, but the sound of laughter echoed from the other end of the call. 

“On the contrary, I suddenly feel like living well. I won’t be having a child from the Casson family. Thank God your true identity was exposed in time, Omar, don’t 

come looking for me again. Seeing anyone from the Casson family only makes me sick.”” 

“Cornelia!!” Omar wanted to curse her out, but the call had already been cut off. 

He took a deep breath, got into his car, and sped towards Cornelia’s home. 

Cornelia’s home was near the slums. Ever since Alma started to oppress their family, her parents lost their jobs, and now they scraped a living from scavenging. 

Omar was in the slums for some business when he stumbled upon Cornelia. 

He recognized her. Cornelia’s hand was injured in that incident, and he was at the scene. 

She didn’t cry then, only bit her lip tight and looked him in the eye, saying: “I will make Alma pay.” 

He should have killed her then, but he showed mercy. 

He didn’t expect to see her again in the slums. 

She didn’t give up on reporting Alma, hoping for a miracle. 

Omar found it hilarious at the time. These lower–class people might never understand their feeble fate. 

To him, Cornelia’s efforts were like an ant struggling. 

But gradually, he started to have feelings for her and even found her adorable. 

Omar, in the Casson family, was directly working for the elders, and many tasks were confidential, which was why he was valued. 

Once, he was injured, and it was Cornelia who saved him. 

Cornelia had no strength in her fingers and dragged him forward with her elbow. 

It was pouring that night. He looked up vaguely and could only see her anxious face.
