She sensed that Cornelia might have made a decision that, while not illegal, might go against her own conscience.
But she was an adult, and one who had been through the school of hard knocks.
From the look on her face, Maja knew that anything she might say would probably fall on deaf ears.
So, after thinking about it for a couple of minutes, she finally gave her answer.
"Just don't regret it later."
Cornelia didn't say anything, quickly finishing her cigarette and lighting up another.
By this time, Maja had already returned to her car.
Meanwhile, Alma was gloating about her victory to the person on the other end of the phone.
"Man, they were totally at a loss. I couldn't help but crack up, hahaha."
"You're getting a kick out of this petty stuff. It looks like Maja's really been giving you a hard time. Aren't you from the Casson family? They're practically royalty in Greenfield."
Alma was stung by these words.
The female voice resumed.
"Whatever, hit them where it hurts or stir up some drama, just don't get caught red-handed. Your brother's about to inherit the Casson fortune, he can cover for you as long as you don't go overboard."
Alma nodded, touching her face.
She really wished her face could go back to normal.
After hanging up the phone, just as Omar walked in, Alma immediately started acting cute.
"Bro, can you do me a solid? I want to mess with Zoey next."
Although she had been home all the time recently, she was far from idle. She had been gathering information about the people around Maja.
She figured if she couldn't go after Maja directly, she could go after the people around her and leave her isolated, right?
Ian wouldn't risk falling out with her over these nobodies.
Omar looked a bit grim. He had recently visited the house owned by the Sullivan family, only to find out it had been sold.
He had once lived there with the Sullivans, those were happy times.
And they had been good to him, he wasn't exactly thrilled about all this.
Alma was tugging at his arm.
"Bro, please, I really hate Maja. You saw her face that night; she wanted to kill me."
Alma was laughing as she said this.
Omar just looked at her with a complicated expression, finally saying, "You should apologize to Cornelia."

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
