Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 979

He didn't dare to ask more, so he called Maja back, saying he would pick up Rocky in the evening.

Maja took a moment to process this, then replied, "Alright."

Nothing else was said.

She rested at the Rosewood Manor until late afternoon, and just as promised, Jeff showed up.

Maja intended to leash Rocky to make it easier for Jeff to lead it away but found out that all of the dog leashes at home were too small. Rocky was just too robust for them.

"Jeff, I'll have someone run to the store and buy a larger leash."

Jeff had no choice but to wait.

Maja sent a bodyguard to the store, who returned in twenty minutes with the largest leash available. But even this turned out to be too small for Rocky.

Moreover, Rocky didn't seem to listen to Jeff. Jeff tried to get it into the car, but it just swished its tail and ran off to wreak havoc in the garden.

Maja was at a loss and shouted, "Rocky!"

Rocky, who had only recently been named, didn't respond well to her calls.

The more Maja called, the further Rocky ran.

Jeff had no choice but to call Ian, who was still working overtime.

"Mr. Raymond, Rocky is not behaving."

"Then let it stay there."

Jeff found this strange. Had Mr. Raymond foreseen all this?

After all, if he could predict who would betray the Raymond Corporation, he should be able to handle a pet, right?

Jeff smirked, finding Ian's personality rather quirky.

After hanging up the phone, he turned to Maja.

"Miss Pennyfeather, Mr. Raymond suggests we let Rocky stay here. He's quite busy."

At this point, Maja was out of options. Even if they wanted Rocky to leave, no one could catch it.

She wanted to ask about Ian's health and whether his previous injuries had fully healed.

But Jeff left too quickly, seemingly reluctant to engage in further conversation.
