Dear Ex-Wife Please Be Mine Again (Christina and Alex) novel Chapter 89

Chapter 89

Christiana’s POV

The air outside the warehouse hit me like a punch. After days of being trapped in that dingy, suffocating space, the open world felt foreign, like I’d forgotten what freedom tasted like. I stood there for a moment, trying to catch my breath, my body stiff and aching from days of being tied up

Markus that was his name. He had taken off the mask and I figured who he truly was. It was as if knowing his name would somehow make this less twisted

HereMarkus said, gesturing to a taxi parked at the edge of the rundown street. I told the driver to take you wherever you need to go. Please just know I never meant for this to happen

I looked at him, my mind spinning. His face was pale, his eyes filled with remorse, but I couldn’t shake the image of him tying me to that chair, watching me suffer. And then the slaps. The apology didn’t erase the pain, the fear

I stepped toward the taxi, wanting nothing more than to get far away from this nightmare. But Markus wasn’t done

Christiana, please,” he said again, stepping closer, his voice thick with desperation. I didn’t know it was you. I owe you my mother’s life. If I had knownI would have refused the job. I swear it.”

I met his eyes, my hands clenching into fists at my sides. You should’ve refused it anyway. You kidnapped me. You tied me up. You helped keep me from my kids.”

His face twisted with guilt. I know, I know. And I’ll live with that. But please believe me, I didn’t know. Biancashe’s the one who hired me. She didn’t tell me who you were

The mention of Bianca’s name sent a surge of rage through me. My jaw tightened, and I could feel my pulse hammering in my ears. Bianca. Of course, it was her. The woman had always despised me, always hiding in the shadows of Alex’s life like a vulture waiting to strike. And now, she had finally made her move

BiancaI spat, tasting the venom in my voice. Of course, it’s her

Markus took a step back, sensing the fire in my tone. I swear, Christiana, if I had known”

I don’t care what you knew,I cut him off, my voice cold, my eyes narrowing as 1 glared at him. What matters is that you did it. You took me. You helped her.”

He dropped his head, shoulders slumping as if the weight of my words crushed him. I can’t take it back,he whispered, his voice barely audible. But I’ll make it right. I’ll help you. Whatever you need”

I stared at him, my breath shallow, my mind was of anger and exhaustion. He could apologize all he wanted, but it wouldn’t erase the fact that Bianca had orchestrated this. The woman had crossed a line she couldn’t come back from, and the only thing I could think about now was how much I wanted to make her pay

The driver was watching us from inside the car, his gaze flickerung between me and Markus, probably sensing the tension. I opened the door and slid into the back seat, feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders. I was free, but not free enough. Not until Bianca was dealt with

Before the door could close, Markus leaned in one last time, his voice desperate. I’m sorry, Christiana. Truly. If there’s anything I can do”

Get out of my way,I snapped, not even bothering to look at him. You’ve done enough.”

He flinched, taking a step back as the door slammed shut. I gave the driver my address, and as the car began to pull away, I saw Markus standing there, watching me leave with regret plastered all over his face. But regret wasn’t though. Not now. Not

Ever

The city lights blurred past as the taxi sped down the road, my heart pounding with fury. My hands clenched in my lap. nails digging into my skin. Bianca had made this personal. She had ripped me away from my children, thrown me into hell for her own twisted vendetta. And for what? Some longdead rivalry? Some pathetic attempt to get back Alex

She’s going to regret this, I muttered under my breath, my jaw tight, eyes burning with unshed tears of anger

The driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror but wisely said nothing

I leaned my head back against the seat, the exhaustion crashing into me like a wave. Every part of my body ached, my muscles sore from days of captivity. But none of it mattered. All could think about was vengeance. Bianca was going to pay. for this. I’d tear her apart if I had to. She had come for me, but she’d made a mistake by underestimating what I was willing to do to protect my family

The city seemed to pass by in a blur, and with each passing second, my jaw only hardened. I would find Bianca. I would confront her. And I would make sure she regretted every second of whatever sick plan she’d put into motion

This wasn’t over

The taxi slowed as we approached the hotel, the familiar sight of the building making my heart race. It was the first sign of safety after what felt like an eternity, I could see two of my bodyguards stationed at the entrance, tall and alert, their eyes scanning the area

As soon as the taxi came to a stop, their heads snapped toward me, and I watched the confusion flash across their faces. One of them. Thomas, narrowed his eyes, and then recognition hit him. His posture straightened, and his face turned pale

Ma’amhe shouted, rushing forward, yanking the door open before I could even attempt to move
