Kala POV 

“If you haven’t been at my pack, then were have you been?” 

“I have found sanctuary at a pack. But I haven’t accepted a position with them because I have been waiting for you. Waiting for you to tell me what to do.” 

I search his eyes for some kind of mockery but he meant this…he had been waiting. 

He was putting a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, and I didn’t even know him anymore. 

“I don’t know what you should do Samson, I don’t know anything myself anymore. This pack you live with, they are a good pack?” Alora said she would be my Beta and it made sense for my own sister to support

“They…yes they are a good pack to me.” 

“Then, join them. You don’t want to be a rogue forever. 

“Well that was the plan, to join the Nightshade Reformed pack, because I was a rogue. It felt fitting as a rogue to join the battle for resettled rogues. To be the beta to the Glace Alpha family again…to support you. That’s all I wanted…to be by your side.” 

“Fate seems to have had other plans…“I add some words to help ease the tension. He nods before his eyes widen, and he moves around the couch towards me again. 

“Kaia, the land….did Beckett leave anything in your name, did he give you documents?” 

“Saying what?” 

“About the lands, that’s what we argued about…as well as him holding back making me a pack member, amongst other things. He didn’t leave any documents indicating the history of the land?” 

“Everything is with Alora now. I can ask her to have a look….what would it be.” 

“I’m not entirely sure, he kept things close to his chest. Even you, his most treasured possession….he kept things from you.” 

“Possession?” 

“Oh yes, your beloved father loved you as a father should, but make no mistake he possessed you Kaia. He controlled you.” There’s bitterness in his tone. 

His comment immediately gets my back up. How dare he say I would be controlled. The recent memories of Hector’s command washing over me each time I tried to leave comes back to me. 

I won’t be controlled. 

He could tell he had irritated me, that his comment was too much. I walk away from him towards the window, needing distance between us. 

He was a passionate beta I’ll give him that, but I couldn’t do anything about not remembering. 

So his attitude towards me was starting to piss me off

“I think maybe it’s time for you to leave.” I turn, facing lim with no hesitation.

I’m not upset. Don’t you get it, I have nothing to get upset about…I can’t remember anything. All I know is I am an alpha of a pack and am a luna of this pack. That I have a mate.” 

“A mate that didn’t want you….” He mutters under his breath. 

“What does that mean?” I growl out, he was starting to become vindictive now. I understood he was upset but that gave him no right to be bitter towards me. 

“Nothing” He shakes his head, walking over to me…his footsteps slow and heavy. It’s as if he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. 

“I want you to leave.” I say slowly and calmly. 

“No, I can’t leave not until you remember me Kaia.”
